Little anecdote: Tuning vocals by hand has been a thing since the mid-late 1970s! It only became a known thing after autotune blew up in the late 90s. Mutt Lange (Def Leppard's producer/engineer) notoriously used Eventide vocal harmonizers (H910 was released in 1974) to correct pitch on artists he worked with. Other methods included using a sampler to fix words/phrases, or manually manipulating the speed on a tape machine while doing overdubs to fix out of key notes. Recording was wild. Also I love y'all.

I would say “there’s universal jokes in it” might not be completely true - your humor is super subtle sometimes and if you’re really not paying attention or to be honest not that smart they just miss the joke completely. Tim, that last guy who called you does not run that podcast show (OBDM). He calls in as a guest every now and then. That needed clarification because the show's host, co-hosts and producer are way smarter than the caller you got. For the record, he goes by the name Strokey Bill. He claims to be an entertainer but he's so pathetically shit at it that he has a day job in marketing for some government department (I think it was marketing for the military or something?). At any rate, he's always trying to stake his claim in being a key player in the OBDM podcast when he's just an avid listener like the rest of us. He just takes it that one step further, thinking he's helping the show when clearly his actions are not to the show's benefit at all. I hope all your listeners understand this, give OBDM a chance (take a listen!) and remember that Strokey Bill does not represent OBDM in any way nor is he a reflection of what the show is all about.
