Love this thanks for sharing! We champion OMs too and it's great to see others doing this and sharing their knowledge.

Interesting. EAs are a CEO lifeline both in business and social environments.

Very interesting. My biggest challenge as an OA/OM is planning focus time so I can complete a task for someone then getting so many interruptions (F2F and via Skype and MSTeams) that I can’t finish the task as agreed. I work in an open plan office so have no way to stop interruptions. If people can’t reach me one way they try others. Meeting rooms don’t have the PC equipment I need and WFH is sometimes possible depending on the task IF I plan in advance. When this happens I lose control of my day, despite blocking time out in my calendar. Any advice?

Interruptions is a HUGE part of the problem for Office Managers! We feel your pain.

Practically Perfect PA I resulted in putting my OOO on with a message along the lines of only interrupt if urgent. I would nit have thought to try this before watching this vlog - it worked (mostly) #winning 🙂

This is the same issue I need to figure out. Taking paperwork home has been the only plan I came up with but then Ill go over hours.

@@annaperkins5818 just say NO to what is not your problem or a top priority. That or maybe the company is the problem, they need more people.

Should a dual role like EA/OM be getting paid a substantial sum, since they do both? I'm concerned I'm being underpaid. Also, was laughing hard at the "what do you do if you have an urgent CEO need for travel, but a staff's laptop broke" -- because that literally describes the "average day" for us hahaha! It never fails, whether the printer is on the fritz again, there's a flood in the kitchen, or some tech issue - it never ever fails.
