Vancouver WA in not only not across the border from Vancouver BC, it’s clear down at the southern border of WA and Oregon, about 6 hours south of BC. (That actually happened to about 50 people during the 2010 Olympics; they booked in Vancouver, WA, thinking they got a steal of a deal…)

It has always bothered me way more than it should that Jim hears Michael say "M. Shulman" and is able to immediately make the connection that he means M. Night Shyamalan.

A hotel can't charge you for cancellations if the reason for the cancellation is entirely their fault. Also they have to provide you a voucher if you don't get a refund. But since this was the Olympics, he could sue them for the loss of his experience
