That has to be one of best written songs I've ever heard. The thoughtfulness of every line to give the different prospectives and reactions to the same event. All while not focusing on demonizing anyone for the act just love and caring for your fellow man to recover. It is simply a piece of art that still gives my goosebumps to this day.

When he first sang this song it was at the CMA'S and it had not been recorded yet. It was an instant number one hit on every radio station in the country no mater the genre. After that any profit he made from it went to the survivors of 9/11.

I am a native New Yorker who was living abroad on 9/11 and I lost a family member that day at the World Trade Center. Due to the US airspace being closed, I couldn't return home until 9/20. Before returning to the US, I was at language school emailing friends and family about the attack and trying to get my return flight date changed. While sitting at a computer, an alarm at the school began to blare. Someone had called in a bomb threat to the school. Everyone -- Americans, other foreigners and native locals--- began to run. Luckily, it was just a sick joke. I saw many women and girls trip and fall due to their high heels while trying to escape the school. The airport security the day I returned home was insane. Bags were checked at least three times before being able to board any flight heading to the US. I saw a pilot for an American Airline decked out red, white and blue with a necktie of the Statue of Liberty and the WTC in the background. He stood at the door to the jetway watching everyone board his aircraft. Once everyone boarded, he double checked the jetway and entered the plane. When I landed at Newark Airport in New Jersey, there were cops everywhere with AR15s. My brother told me that it took him an hour just to reach the airport entrance due to the security. Then it took us more than 3 hours to get home to Long Island.

20 years ago, I was 17...and I witnessed my teacher’s reaction to being told that her family member was on 93. I immediately felt her pain and grief and I am just now learning how to cope with it. There were three events that happened at the same time in America that day, and I always feel that 93 gets over looked. However, the story of that flight and the heroes on that flight, changed me for the rest of my life. Please do a reaction to Flight 93 trailer...the A&E version of the movie, not the theatrical. And also do a reaction to Alternate History Hub’s video of what if the 4th plane hit its target. Both videos are full of inspiration and bravery. Thank you.

9/11 Will forever be in my mind and never forgotten. I remember where I was and what I was doing. I remember feeling like the world was ending. My heart broke for all those lives that were lost. I had a coworker that was cocounsel to A law firm that I worked with. His office was in the north tower. He was an older gentleman and had never been late for work a day in his life. He was always the first one there and the last one to leave. On that tragic day, he was late for work. There were so many stories like that. Never forget 9/11!!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Have you seen the documentary with Tom Brokaw about this event? 9/11: Operation Yellow Ribbon (Gander, Newfoundland) by Trabis. So many people are unaware of this amazing story and the part Gander, Newfoundland, (approx 10K residents) played in taking in over 6,600 passengers & crew members when there was a Ground Stop placed on all flights into the U.S. to prevent any additional terrorist attacks on the U.S. 38 commercial flights were diverted to Gander along with a number of military aircraft. Seeing the number of grounded airplanes in this documentary was stunning. Over 250 planes were diverted to various places in Canada. It's a beautiful, uplifting documentary. We saw the worst of humanity & the best of humanity on 9/11. Much respect & thanks to our wonderful, generous, good-hearted neighbors to the north. You have probably seen the documentary since you were affected personally by it, but if not, it is worth watching. Very uplifting story. Restores my faith in humanity that there are more good people in the world than evil.

Not trying to be a douche but it was 4 planes: 1. Pentagon 2. Flight 93 3 and 4: Twin towers People forget about Flight 93 being involved on 9/11 because the passengers overpowered the hijackers flying the plane and it crashed in a field in Pennsylvania before the plane could be used on its target, thus saving countless lives.

I was shocked it happened, but I wasn't surprised. (If that makes sense). I remember everything about that day. I was getting ready for school (I had a dentist appointment and was going to be going to school right after). I went to school and we had a discussion about it and I found it more shocking that no one in the room besides me had ever anticipated this happening to us. The beauty of the song is the juxtaposition of an act of hate with the ideas of faith, hope, and love.

I remember sitting in class in junior high. We were watching the morning news like we always did every morning. When I saw the first plane hit, I remember being scared for the people on the plane. When the second one hit, I remember feeling general fear and rage. i stood up and slammed my fists down on the desk and said " What do they think they are doing?"

I was 13 when it happened. I was in junior high in Fayetteville, Arkansas. We had a teacher run into our class to tell our 1 period teacher to turn on the T.V. The entire day we watched it in every class.

I would never wish to have such a tragedy like this again....but the way our country, the USA, came together as one....was beyond amazing. I just wish that love could've lasted. I was in a bombing just inside Egypt at a Hilton resort. I was literally in the lobby 10 min before the suicide bomber walked in detonated. Zero chance i would've survived. The lobby was bottom of rubble from every other floor collapsing on top of it. We were in the lobby debating whether or not we'd stay a night or two longer.

20 years ago, I had just turned 10years old ten days before 9/11/2001. My family and i had just moved from Michigan to Florida. Had woken up that morning and went to put cartoons on for my brothers and i, and every channel that my moms friend had on her TV had the news on. I remember trying to wake my mom up but she wasnt understanding what I was trying to tell her "Mom, a plane crashed into a building in NY" I didnt fully understand the complete importance of the towers, and what was happening. When mom didnt wake up I went and woke up her friend with the same phrase and she jumped up out of bed looked at the TV covered her mouth and yelled at my mom to wake up. I will never forget the fear that we all felt. The last time this country truly came together as a united front. Great reaction guys #newsub

I will never forget. I was at my job watching the news with my boss. We watched as the planes crashed into the buildings. My boss and I had family living in New York (we are from Florida) . I had cousins living in Manhattan and for a few days we didn't know where they were. We finally got a call two days after from my cousin Carlos. He said he his brother were fine but that my boss' brother didn't make it. He was on the second building and died that day.

I was on board the USS Enterprise. We had just left Dubai and we where headed to South Africa, about 10 hours away from crossing the equator when 9/11 happened. You could feel the ship make a U-turn and back to the gulf we went. Sat and did figure 8's waiting for instructions. We then "lit up their world like the 4th of July" A time that I will never forget!

Amazed how some people are so talented and creative they come up with something so meaningful. Found it interesting that he wrote the song the night of the 11th. A humorous song along with the story behind it that might find interesting is Vince Gill's "It's hard to kiss the lips at night that chew your ass out all day long"

Alan has one line that asks, "Did you go out and buy you a gun?" Yes, as a matter of fact I did and I got a carry permit because it was my fervent hope that if some bad guys came after me, I could at least take a few of them with me. I'm just one old lady in Nashville Tennessee and I don't know why any bad guys would come after me but the way I feel is that if you attack my country, you are attacking me so actually, bad guys already have come after me! Alan Jackson had to be absolutely inspired when he wrote this song. It is perfection!

I was at home getting ready for school, 6 years old. and I heard my grandma scream. I went out to the living room to see the first tower in smoke, then we watch as the second tower got hit. About the only thing I remember vividly from that time in my life.

It's amazing how you can forget things, but those old enough to remember can remember so clearly where they were and what they were doing that day. I was only in 4th grade, about to turn 9 that very month, and my school carried on as if it wasn't happening. I got home with my dad, sat down at the dining room table to do my homework, and he turned on the news to continue watching. I didn't know what the WTC was, where the Towers were, but when I saw the images of those massive buildings engulfed in flames and smoke even little oblivious me knew something was very, very wrong. Not that Dad bothered to tell me anything and just keep snapping for me to do my homework. Yeah right. Massive respect for the those brave passengers of Flight 93. Their family and friends managed to alert them to what was going on, so they banded together and resolved to fight back, and their rebellion forced the hijackers to crash early. We don't know where 93 was headed, but some believe it was headed for DC and possibly the White House. People still rag on Bush, but I give the man major props as he was away from DC at the time and sitting in a classroom full of young children all entirely focused on him when he was told what happened, and he had to keep himself in check and not give away anything in his expression so as not to upset the children. He remained calm and collected because he knew he needed to.

Remember quite clearly! My Mother and Aunt were to fly into NY, to fly to Europe that night. And they stop in mid flight and went back to Portland. I woke early with my kids next to me in bed. And look a the tv real quick just to see the time, thinking about my Mother an Aunt. And saw what happen and I laid back down and held my young sons, with many questions running through my head. I have lost aunt and mother sense then.
