Since there are 162 games in the season and some teams get eliminated from the playoffs with a lot of games left to play, there are plenty of silly moments like this in the season. Playoffs you won't really see stuff like this, but Spring Training and regular season, baseball players are big goofballs.

Beltre, when he played for the Mariners, got injured when a ball hit his nuts, because he didn't wear a protective cup. Even after it swelled to grapefruit size and he might have needed surgery, he didn't wear a cup because it messed with his mojo.

I haven't watched baseball regularly in years, but I remember that some of the older retired players who broadcast the games said that joking with an opponent would not have been tolerated by the coaches when they played 40-plus years ago. Perhaps the change is generational. Also, I noticed when I watched games, and in this video as well, that Latino players are more likely to joke with an opponent. At the risk of being accused of stereotyping, is this a cultural difference?
