I was playing in goal one night with an Argentine family's team against a frat boy team with their girlfriends. The guys on that team played recklessly, I remember one of our girls blocked a shot for me and the guy who made the shot ran up for a rebound and absolutely HAMMERED her in the ear with the ball. Very unnecessary, the sound of the ball hitting her was so loud that the hurling team playing on the opposite field got startled. But what amazed me was that she didn't even react or look in pain at all!

Refs just don't whistle, if a player doesn't fall down. It gets proven almost every game. Any defender trying to let the ball roll over the back line, falls when he gets touched. Strikers pulling, get free kicks just for falling, while grabbing shirts. When there is a small side line fight, who get the red cards? A assistents coach, 3th goalkeeper, no one big.

I absolutely love watching the World Cup, but the dives in soccer are just unreal. They are so blatant and ridiculous but the refs still reward them often enough that encourages players to keep trying. Obviously there are flops in basketball and American football as well, but you rarely see stuff this obvious even rewarded with a foul of a penalty.

Flopping in American football doesn't happen and on the very very rare occasion that a player does 5 yard penalty. It doesn't even make sense to flop/dive/fall in🏈

@@Birick As I stated you RARELY see blatant examples, but you will sometimes see receivers overplay a little hold or somesuch to try to get interference called. You also on rare occasions see lineman who act like they've been shot to get an encroachment call.

The wr imo should just go get the ball if the flag is thrown kinda free play, where if they catch the ball and continue on thru the interference it could result in a TD. @@Birick Because offsides in American football is a very minor penalty and usually so obvious it's never contested. In soccer it is a completely different penalty and much harder to determine...and goals are frequently rescinded for offsides.

One of the things I love about women's football/soccer is that the girls pretty much never take a dive. Hell I've seen women knock each other out both going for a header on the ball and they actually went back into the game.

Diving doesn't take away from the sport of football at all. It is a minor thing that looks a bit negative to outsiders who know nothing about football or who were never athletically gifted. So yeah it's a minor annoyance for a few people that's about it.
