My daughter-in-law had her second child back in November so she’s a second time breastfeeding mom. But Lil’ man prefers the bottle over the breast, so she spends a lot of time pumping. As long as the baby is getting what they need, your doing your job as a parent. Even if you feel like it’s not the way you wanted it to go. I’m so happy for you guys, I can’t wait to watch her grow up and you guys grow as a family. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Such a pretty name for such a pretty girl! As a former kindergarten teacher I tell all new parents, from day one, read to her from real books, not electronic, every day, multiple times a day! Diaper changing pads are great! My daughter just uses the next disposable diaper but I personally liked the pads because they were bigger just in case you had a little more messy occasion. She is beautiful! So happy for you guys! Her name is darling!

The diaper changing pads that fold up and you can put anywhere are awesome! I always used those, even on changing tables. They are washable. Get the canvas type with the other side with the slick wipeable side. Happy BDay Eli, happy anniversary!

Hey Lacey, have you spoken to a lactation consultant or specialist? It’s ALWAYS worth asking for help to make breastfeeding comfortable for both of you - there’s all sorts of reasons breastfeeding might be a struggle and it might even be that she’s so small she’s struggling to latch. There are lots of great forums and mum groups on Facebook that can give loads of advice on what worked for them and there are even KZbin videos :)

Your doing an amazing job Lacey with express feeding! It’s very hard work, you have both the job of a direct feeding and a formula feeding mum, so you are amazing! Don’t let anyone tell you it’s not viable long term- I did it for one year for my son Eli, and I know others who have don’t it for three years straight. Definitely head to a lactation consultant to get a review to see if they can pinpoint the exact issue. The sleepless nights are definitely worth it, the time will fly. Remember the house work and the world can wait, enjoy Baxley being little whilst you can! She is absolutely beautiful, congratulations!

I had to pump with my first child because he was a premie and was in the NICU for over two weeks and had a feeding tube so he never got to latch on !! If breastfeeding is important to you I'd suggest trying to latch at every single feed. I was triple feeding in the beginning until a month, but she finally got the hang of it. Happy early birthday Eli!! And I looove the name Bexley. How did you think of it?!? I've never heard it before.

I may suggest getting a nipple shield and seeing a lactation consultant to help you with her latch. My son would only eat on the bre@st with the shield for the first couple weeks until he learned a good latch. Congrats to you both! She is precious.

Bexley is my maiden last name! Very cool. I’ve not heard it as a first name before. There is a town in Ohio named Bexley. I’m not from there but I’ve heard about it and there is a Bexley pen company. The name is English and the story I heard is a man that came over from England as an indentured servant and landed in St. Augustine, FL. He ran away from his servitude and made his way to Ohio and that is how Bexley town was formed. Don’t hold me to that story. That is just what I’ve heard. I grew up in St. Augustine, Fl and I’ve never been to Bexley Ohio. Congratulations on your beautiful baby girl. Love the name!

I don't think we were being impatient I think we were just excited to see how Parenthood was settling in with you guys. We have been on this whole journey with all of you and we are use to seeing you beautiful faces we just missed you guys. Now I have to put my two cents in on the cutest moment on this vlog it has to go to Eli hands down. I mean how dare you Lacey, to say his baby girl is stinky. Those were some fighting words and he was not about to let you get by with that at all. Protective father's are the best you better never let him get away. There are very few father's like that anymore. I love it. Your already a great father and it tickles me that you brought Shelly and Jared to tears talking about how much they love you, Eli. And how great you are for Lacey and how perfect you two are together. I believe in one hand Shelly was so proud how much you was there for Lacey during the birth but at the same time she was a little sad she didn't feel needed as much as she thought her baby girl would need her. She even said she thought Lacey would need her to be right there for you, and it was not the case at all because Eli was right there for everything Lacey needed. It was all just great to see. Congratulations to the whole family, including Eli's family!!!

I was a nanny for a lactation consultant and they LOVE helping people breast feed. It'll be covered by your insurance and there's even agencies out there to help you if you don't have it. It's fine if you don't wanna do it or can't but they are miracle workers!!!
