VERY INFORMATIVE!! Just want to add some more. When you're unsatisfied about something, don't use any violence whether verbal or non-verbal with the local. You could make a complain with manner. Yelling and scold won't get you a good result. In case you travel with your kids [baby, toddler] , you may find many Thai people pay attention to your children. For example, looking, giggle, pointing at your kids with smily face. It's nothing. we just love little children and think they're cute regardless of skin colors. Especially, the kids with chubby cheeks. LOL Don't worry we will not approach your child. Just enjoy their cuteness from afar.

There are more and more Black Americans and Black people from around the world living and visiting Southeast and East Asia - you will love it over there. People are lovely, you'll be treated well, food is amazing, scenery is beautiful, shopping and nightlife are amazing. Plus everything is super cheap. $2 for a streetfood meal and $40 for a hotel. What's not to love? Also, you won't stand out at all if you're Black in SE Asia or Bangkok. In fact you'll blend in more with the locals than White people, simply because SE Asians and Indians who also live around SE Asia are dark. Plus our indigenous ancestors all over Asia came from Africa.

MJ, how long is an extended visa for in Bangkok and when it expires if you decide to stay longer do you seriously have to come back to the US to reapply? This video was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

@MJ Harris Did you experience people touching your skin? I had multiple people touching me. Of course I didn’t understand why. Someone explained they thought it was pretty. They also didn’t think I was American or black. Honestly I experienced absolutely no racism at all Did you notice the up charge for foreigners?

@@MJHarrisSpeaks I went in 2013. Maybe they have more of a world view. Did you notice the up charge on your receipts?

That won't really happen in Bangkok. Bangkok is the most visited city on earth, there are people from literally all over the world there at all times. It's not unusual to see Black people there. The Chinese are more notorious for doing that in smaller towns. But even then, it doesn't come from a negative place, they're just curious. Much better than actually experiencing true racism where they hate you which can happen in parts of Europe and America of course.
@kathyb52467 ай бұрын
@@kayflip2233 There was absolutely nothing negative about my experience in Bangkok. I highly recommend that every POC visit a country where you’re not a minority because of your skin color. I felt very accepted.
