An idea you may have not thought of Amy. What if the media room upstairs you turn into the living toom/family room where the big coach and tv go. Then in the current living room/dining room you create your dining room with a small seating area with over sized chairs where you can read and enjoy your coffee to replace your morning mountain spot. The back patio around the pool with the Florida weather I have a feeling is going to become your outdoor living room and where your family will be most of the time. I hope this idea helps.

My sister and brother-in-law just sold their house to a realtor. He came over several times to measure rooms for carpet and let his kids get drinks out of the refrigerator. (The youngest kid is 20.) Unreal!

If you use the butler pantry as a food pantry instead of for dishes then you can rip out the closet next to it for the freezer.

We had that same issue when we bought our house in 2015, they took some things that were specifically in the contract. My dad never did get over it but he went to heaven in 2020, I still think about it from time to time. It really hurt to be a carful person that follows the rules and be dealing with people that are not the same.

The house, for me, definitely gives South Florida beachy vibes with the peaches (or was it pinks?), greens, and wood touches. It seems big enough without being too big, does that make sense? Of course, I don't have as big a family, so to me, it looks just right. But, I love that green and those wood/rattan-looking shades! And that kitchen, that stove, wow! I'm sure you've already been enjoying that! I'm also sure that 4 toilets are an absolute blessing, lol! I'm looking forward to seeing all the touches you give to your house to make it y'all's home. Thank God that the closing went through, even with all the glitches. God is good and He made sure you guys weren't done wrong. The house and yard are beautiful! Congratulations!

Amy, you could make it feel bigger and brighter with french doors in the kitchen and larger windows in the living room. That would really open things up! The kitchen would be spectacular with doors that open out with a view onto the pool. And outdoor furniture and a 'family' bar with fridge...and a grill! That expands your living space.

The new home is lovely, the pool and patio area are gorgeous. Not that you need advice, but I would put the freezer in the garage along with extra frig. I would get a small sofa and possibly a couple of chairs for living room. Make the upstairs room into TV room for the whole family. Then invest in some really nice patio/pool furniture and put a TV outside( I am sure Gregg would love it😊) 🏝️☀️ Enjoy the new adventures!!!

1st I would like to recommend the original Yours Mine and Ours with Lucille Ball for a house moving scene. I love that movie. 2nd. I love the house. I am glad you got something you love. 3rd. This is a checklist I keep and post every year for a reminder for hurricanes. It is something i copied and pasted to a google doc to have available so the wording is not mine. Please be careful during a hurricane. And try to prepare what you can ahead so you won't have to be rushed to get things done. Keep your gas tanks at 3/4 of a tank if you can so that you can evacuate if needed without having to be in line for gas. I am ,admittedly, one that prepares early every year. Better safe than sorry. Yearly reminder... Start preparing now so you won't be caught in the frenzy when a hurricane happens. Hurricane prep. 1. Stock your freezer full. Place water in all your plastic containers and fill all the empty space you can in the freezer. This will keep food safe much longer. If you freezer if mostly empty you will lose your food for sure, even with an outage of just a few hours. 2. Do the laundry. No need to be searching for clean clothes during an extended outage. 3. Get supplies from the store now. Batteries, glow sticks, bread, canned soups, etc. For those of you with a 3 month supply in your General Store this is already done. 4. Get cash. With ATMs and credit cards of no use cash is a must have. Even after power is restored it can take days to get things back to normal and just because your power is on does not mean it will be on at the "home" of the credit cards and ATMs. 5. Get fuel for the generator. 6. Get fuel for cooking. 7. Gather flashlights, glow sticks, hand warmers, blankets, sleeping bags, camp stove, games and books, whatever you have to help keep your family safe and warm. Once the power goes off you will want to close rooms to keep the heat concentrated in the area where you will be "living" so gather items now so you can close off those rooms where they are now stashed. 8. Charge all cell phones and other devices. 9. Gas up your car 10. Fill every pitcher and pot you have with water, fill the tub to use for flushing. Storm surges often polluted fresh water sources with salt water. Of course if you are on a well the power may go out. 11. Take photos. Open doors, drawers, etc. and take pictures of all rooms and garage as you leave. 12. Move outdoor items into the garage so they don't float away or batter your house causing damage.

Report it to your realtor and it's there responsibility and they don't get paid until they get the things from the other half. I've never heard of a realtor who doesn't go along for the walk through. That's crazy.

Your house is beautiful! We had a similar situation when we moved to this same area in FL. We arrived with cars, moving truck, kids, dog and friends who helped us move down here and the house was still fully furnished and the guy was drinking wine with his neighbor!!! ( some weird circumstances prevented the walkthrough)- we had to call our realtor and she called his realtor and what a mess! HOWEVER now it is a distant memory and we love where we live and our home 😊- our living room is smaller for us too but we spend sooooo much time outside in the lanai and in the pool and yard it doesn’t matter- welcome welcome and have so much fun making that great house a warm home.😊

Your rant is right on!!! We paid over ask for our home, then the sellers refused to remove certain things from the home because they just didn't want to. Karma got them. Ten days before closing, the air conditioning went out. Then they had the audacity to ask if we wanted to pay for half. Ummm...NO. You got over ask and the a/c was working when we saw it so YOU have to make sure it works now. We love Hungry Howie's, too!! Glad you're moved in.

When we moved into the home we are in now, we got the keys Friday night and had everything set up to be there first thing Saturday morning - furniture deliveries, cleaning crew, etc. They had asked, through our lawyer, if they could leave everything in the garage and move it out by noon on Saturday. We reluctantly agreed with the note that we had all this other stuff arranged and happening that same morning. When I showed up Saturday morning, they were still in the house - they slept there - and all their stuff was everywhere in the house. They even told my furniture delivery guys to come back later as they were still moving out - fortunately I heard them and put a stop to that. What a nightmare.

That EXACTLY happened to us when we moved from Texas to Florida a year and a half ago!!!!! Back in Tx, I even filled all the little pin holes from pictures frames in the walls. Cleaned EVERYTHING to a T and was out the night before. Not here!!! Nope! And sadly, we paid $400grand MORE than our house back in Texas. They left allllll their holes in the walls. And so much was overlooked. I won’t tell you what happened 3 days after we moved in. Don’t want to stress you. I have learned that the people in Florida are a different culture than back home where we take pride in our state and being overly neighborly. People are not that way here! But, you do find those who are “your people” so don’t despair! The weather here and the joy you get to have with the family at the beaches far outweigh the other things ❤❤❤ CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

I own 20 rental properties and people don’t care about your property. Especially if they are being evicted! I’ve had them do $5,000 worth of damage before moving out. Intentionally pulled cabinets out of the wall, light foxy from the ceiling, etc. it’s crazy what I’ve seen done to a property for no reason.

Love the Kitchen. I like the green colours. The pool is fantastic. Great choice of home. Obviously the home has survived previous Hurricane's so you should be fine.

So excited for you! Yeah, when we bought our last house, we had a weird situation two people hadn’t even packed up all their stuff after we close on the house. It was like another eight hours before we could even get into our house cause they had junk everywhere it was a real mess.

You definitely need to turn that one room upstairs into a lounge room with pool table for the kids....this house looks so much smaller but I'm sure it's going to be great for you all. It's very pretty. I live on the other coast of Florida and it's a wonderful place to live, especially with young / teenage kids and a pool.

Congratulations on your move to Florida! Y'all look so happy! My family relocated from South Louisiana to TN last year, almost opposite of y'all. We left the southern heat for the mild temperatures in TN & are loving the change in weather! We were blessed to raise our children on a homestead in LA for 20+ years. In 2020 we lost our home and 99% of everything we owned in Hurricane Laura. It was our third hurricane loss in 20 years. The constant evacuating year after year is exhausting! (You want to travel far enough to be safe but close enough to return quickly, to save anything salvageable and/or do damage control.) Hurricanes usually affect entire towns or communities, making rebuilding challenging & lengthy for many reasons. My heart goes out to everyone who has endured a major home loss due to any natural disaster. Praying this hurricane season will under preform and people will be spared!!! Most importantly, it's a blessing to be with your loved ones, as each day is a priceless gift! Trusting in God's sovereignty, and being content no matter what each day and/or season has in store! Happy to see you family is all together again!❤

How exciting for you all! I can see and feel all of the excitement! That pool is amazing! The living room is a bit small but the theater room could definitely be the hangout space. And, you guys will want to eat outside most of the time! Put a big table out there. 🎉
