@LunerKunai Жыл бұрын
By design, considering the game is surrounded around matching attacks with the beat. But yeah, honestly some of the original songs just completely blow the licensed ones out of the water. The themes for Mimosa, Rekka for example. Too Big To Fail and 1,000,000 are honestly evenly matched in my mind.

I love that they have their own strengths and you can legit play the game with either setting on if you want a bit more variety while collecting Hall of Fame stuff. The licenced tracks are recognizable and reflect the original intention (even the covers), while the streamer mode tracks were made _for_ those scenes with stronger emphasis on the beats and even lyrics that allude to the story and characters.

@@colinmartin9797 People can want a sequel if they want, dude. I’d like to see one because I liked this game a lot and want to see what else they could add to the combat, and see the characters interact more. Sequels don’t run things into the ground unless they’re uninspired. Red Dead Redemption, Devil May Cry, The Elder Scrolls, GTA, DOOM, and plenty of other series have sequels that blow the original games out of the water and define their series. Mario is the most well-known video game series/character and almost nobody is thinking of his first game when they talk about him.
@colinmartin9797 Жыл бұрын
@@burningsexuality1540 And for every good sequel we get two dozen tired boring pieces of shovelware. I disagree completely with practically every game you listed as being a good enough exception to the rule. Imagine how much more innovative games would have to be if we didn't blindly buy them based on their IP. Imagine a nintendo where every thing they released wasn't mario, zelda, or pokemon. What amazing stuff would we get? Also remember that RDR, TES, GTA and DOOM all came from companies that have a habit of abusing their employees and terrible work and consumer business practices. Yeah, the new doom game was great. But does it excuse fallout 76 or how Bethesda treated Mick Gordon? Maybe I'm weird, but I don't buy from studios that abuse their employees or the customers. I honestly wouldn't have bought this game because of bethesda, I just didn't know until after I'd bought it. Yeah, we'd lose out on a few doom 2's and Empire Strikes Back's, but if we stopped buying into IP's nonstop we might actually see more innovation outside of the indie scene.
@burningsexuality1540 Жыл бұрын
@@colinmartin9797 I completely disagree with you painting wanting a sequel as blindly following an IP. Buying a sequel to a game you like isn’t “blind” at all. It’s buying a product you think you’ll like based on the fact that you liked the original. I’m not really going to respond to the stuff about developers being mistreated and such. Not that I don’t care, but it had nothing to do with what I said. It’s worth noting though that boycotting almost always accomplishes nothing though. I understand you disagreeing about the games I listed, but no offense, you’re in the minority with pretty much all of those titles. Those series are more popular now than they’ve ever been, and most people would prefer to play their modern iterations as opposed to the originals. For some other sequels that outclass the originals though, there’s jet set radio future, which literally improves on its predecessor in every way, from gameplay to aesthetics and content. There’s kingdom hearts 2, which polished the gameplay and defined the series from that point on. The most coveted final fantasy game is the 7th. Sequels in the gaming world can be good, and often are. Best example: Street Fighter 1 is a horrible game. And what you said, about a world where unique games are made. There are plenty of unique, interesting and fun games made all the time. Hi-Fi Rush is an example, but there’s also Pizza Tower, which came out just recently. Fun and unique new games aren’t in shortage, unless your view is really narrow. And yeah, no offense but no. If there’s a world where Mario was just a shitty arcade game from the early 80s, and we never got Mario 64, Warioland, Paper Mario, and Mario Odyssey, I don’t want to be in that world. Also I really don’t see why you feel strongly enough about the idea of a good game getting a potentially good sequel that you’ll tell somebody “No. Stop asking for Sequels”.

Giving Bethesda Zero credit isn't a solution. It's just going to the opposite extreme. Just give credit fairly both ways. The game only exists due to a lot of people in various roles across the dev studio and publisher.

35 - Negotiation (2:00:34) The sheer DEPTH of this track is incredible, you can almost feel yourself as Chai in the standoff. The constant tiptoeing and impacts with a layer of doubt all around overshadowed by a stubborn loyalty, the main little melody at the beginning. The rising rage, followed by a brief calm, and then it blasts off immediately again because Chai is a dumb little nugget brain and doesn't know what oblivious means, and the dramatic sounds that follow are like a siren telling you you've officially fucked up, and yet the doubt remains in the guitar even in the relentless assault. The frantic ending is beautiful as well, a hurried rush to succeed in the final QTE. I pity those of us who screwed that up, lol.
@querccias2402 Жыл бұрын
I totally screwed that up, but completely loved every single second of that fight and I still think it's my favorite. The tension and resolve from both sides is so well done, that it doesn't only feel that you're simply trying to defeat someone, but also save them in the process - and the consequences of failing to save Korsica from the people manipulating her feel so much worse than simply getting a Game Over against your usual boss, that you really do feel the need to suceed no matter what. The stakes in that fight really are at an all time high because of how well written and executed the whole thing was, and the impact of the attacks being consistently thrown at you, before having to resist an entire barrage of relentless attacks as the climax hits and you know you've fucked up and this is your last chance to make things right - that shit really made you feel like you're there and you have to endure and win. Absolute masterpiece of a fight.

I love the rush. It makes use of more than just your basic guitar riffs and drums, but also is incredibly reliant on those to push the simplicity of the "first song" the "tutorial song" it's a very high action piece with simple leads and dope/very fun rhythmic sections kind of how a beginner guitarist would make a song. The vocal melodies and the pipe organ, among other instruments that change around and are added into the song as it goes on just help to really sell how much fun can be had when making music. And at the break all of the instruments and vocalists get a moment to shine individually, but also together. And for the climax of the song? Everyone is playing at full blast like a beginner band deciding to just say "screw it, man let's just have fun!" And it shows in the game that you've pretty much gotten the hang of all the tutorial bits and are just going ham with all your newly acquired tools. The game basically is telling you the same thing. "Have fun!" This is just the first song. The rest of the songs have no where to go, but up. AND THEY DO Gj tango. You've truly shown us what diamonds in the rough look like. I hope to see more great games like this come out as we continue through the rest of 2023 and beyond

Microsoft deserves every plague and misfortune imaginable for ending Tango Gameworks. Such a waste of awesome talent and passion.

I WILL be buying the physical copy when it comes on sale at Limited Run. Thank you Tango Gameworks for your amazing games. We will all miss you so much. Until we meet again, Rock on! 🤘🎸🐱

I don't know if I can even do that in good faith. I imagine all the profit from here on will only go to Microsoft now that the devs are gone.

My favorite one was the Making Things Is Hard. As a software developer, when I heard it in the last bit of the credits, I was speachless. This game had a lot of meta content and 4th wall breaker linking to it being a game, about immersion and so on. But this last song caught me off guard. Nicely done.

A great game with an amazing soundtrack. Congratulations to the whole team! It's not often something is announced and released on the same day, without any sort of leak too. A true triumph!!

Amazing how a studio known for making three highly successful and popular horror games. (and one mobile game...we don't talk about that one.) Comes out of nowhere with a fun rhythm-action game. That is pretty much a chill game. Also, a real banger of a soundtrack.

Some of my favorite tracks are: Intruder, Negotiation, Through the Halls of History, The Pulse/The Rush, Heatwave (Värrt mix), Captive Normals, Too Big to Fail Surfacing, and Reflection. But really, I love all the tracks here.

@@J221. for real, though i didnt see it possibly winning because it didnt really gather a community which would vote for it and isnt an AAA game, it should get a seperate category, something like "most passionate game" or "old school game" or something like this. its just a shame games like this dont get enough credit these days
@J221.8 ай бұрын
@@INSiDErria honestly love the game, first time in a good minute since a modern game was just a game and not a cinematic interactive film, nothing wrong with those of done right But this game was such a blast, had that Saturday morning cartoon vibe, overall was genuinely a great game

This game was ridiculously good. It's so different from what Tango usually makes, and it's easily my favorite game from them, and one of the best I've played. The story was surprisingly good, even though it's pretty simple and I loved the characters. There's not a single thing I didn't enjoy from this game.

I agree, the story is nothing earth shattering, but the characters, humor and everything else makes it a masterpiece

I hope that big game companies can take a few notes from Tango Gameworks because this was made incredibly well like it was made in the early 2000's and the fact that this was shadow dropped without prior knowledge These people pour the souls into this project, their blood sweat and tears for 5 years and you can tell they had confidences that this would be a hit and it is a damn good wakeup call to how things were. This game is fun day 1, no added fees, no day 1 patch. Just fun, Stupid fun. If they make a sequel I hope they do the same they did with this game and take their time LET THEM COOOOOOK
