Best video I have seen for replacing a screen. Thank you for pointing out all the little parts and what they look like. That was so helpful! I just replaced my screen on my iPhone 5c (first time ever replacing a screen) with the help of this video. Also, it was really helpful that you pointed out the possible problems after connecting everything and what they could mean. Because I did not get it right the first time. Also for any of those people out there who are having trouble getting your device to even light up after you try to turn it on. I found that my new lcd and digitizer ribbon cable connectors didn't have enough pressure holding them down in place, so I put a little extra bit of folded paper on top of the connectors before putting the plate over to secure them. Worked like a charm!

Excellent tutorial. Many thanks iCracked. 3 hours later!!!! I’ve got everything working perfectly, thanks to lots of patience and methodically working through your KZbin tutorial. Initial problems I encountered with the touch screen function not working were resolved by carefully reseating the digitiser cable connection and transferring the foam on the back of original digitiser cable connector onto the new one, which helped the connector to stay connected to the motherboard. My iPhone is now as good as new again. Thanks again.

Great walk through! I used your kit before but i broke it again even worse. But i reused the tools and got a cheaper screen and the tutorial here is way better than the instructions. it took me about 2 hours using the instructions but with this it took me 20 minutes. Thank you guys!

Wow I can't believe it worked. This was so complicated but you made it easy. Two of my screws weren't coming out and I didn't have any other tools small enough. One screw came out with a LOT of force and the other I had to remove by detaching (breaking) a part of the metal frame from the old phone. It worked!!!

Done it! Had already sent my iphone to Apple and they said it couldn't be repaired as it was not just the screen that was damaged. Bought a new screen with digitizer off ebay and did the repair myself following your instructions and tips. Had previously tried just the glass and that was very difficult and not worth the time and effort. Works perfectly now! Thanks VERY much!

Great walk through, got my new screen swapped the first try thanks to the video. The only issue I ran into was the lack of info on the removal of the front mic assembly. There is a small black rubber piece, a thin metal bracket, a circular piece of plastic that is behind the front facing camera and some thin foam or something blocking junk from getting through the rectangular mic hole. All of this stuff was needed on the new screen, thankfully it wasn't too difficult but some video and walking through would definitely help.

Very helpful video with great instructions. I did have to re-watch parts at times to work out exactly what I was meant to do, but I now have a working phone again without a broken screen. I did have to put the charger in after trying to turn it back on and starting to panic a little as it wasn't turning on (the battery hadn't been flat when i turned it off). So if you have that issue, try plugging in your charger before pulling it all apart again! I also have discovered my phone did not (and still doesn't have) the ambient light filter... no idea what it does, but my camera still works, so it cant be too big a deal. I assume the phone repairer who repaired the screen the first time it broke a couple of years ago lost it or forgot to put it back in, as it was definitely not there when i went to remove it.

This video is awesome. I wish I had it when I replaced my 5c screen. The close up view is great. the video I followed missed a few things like disconnecting the battery cable first. and moving over the ambient light filter. I had a problem with my front facing camera after my repair. I wonder if its related to the ambient light filter. I'll have to go back in and check that.

My screen does shut off when I'm on a phone call, so I'm assuming something went wrong with the proximity sensor. When attaching that, the camera, and the ambient light sensor the two holes would just not go over the pegs. It was physically impossible (again, something probably went wrong) so the holes had to be clipped slightly to fit. The home button is also a lot deeper and doesn't click. Other than that, the phone works just fine! Great tutorial.

Wow what a giant pain in the ass with those ultra tiny screws. But the video was spot on except for one thing. The front facing camera clear alignment thing was all ready installed in your new digitizer, mine was not. so I had to transfer them. But out side of that my phone is up and running like new. I would suggest to people attempting this to get a piece of paper and draw four or five circles on it. Then as you remove the screws put them in one of the circles and label accordingly. Because they are so small and it's easy to mix them up. This is a trick I use when working on laptops that have like 30 screws of different sizes holding the bottom case on.

My phone is literally in two pieces. Some of the parts that should be connected to the screen broke off and are attached to the phone itself. My thermal plate was also bent when my phone got smashed. Is it possible for my phone to get fixed?

Guys , As far as the side screws being stuck; i tore apart the broken lcd and kept just the Thermal Plate. I have to say I got lucky but utimelty you really don’t need the screws.
