Mahalo nui loa, Aloha 'oe "Izz" Ku'u momi makamae Israel Kaʻanoʻi Kamakawiwoʻole. I remember hearing Iz passed away in the hospital on the radio like it was yesterday, the state flags flew at half mass in Hawaii that day. People were setting doves loose, honking their horns, singing the state motto in the streets, the motto is Ua Mau Ke Ea O Ka Aina I Ka Pono which means "the life of the land is perpetuated in holyness. I even joined in a few times that day to celebrate his life like he would have wanted even though I was sad. At night it was beautiful with all the boats with candles in them floating away in the channel towards the ocean, it was like 10,000+ people at his funeral and he was loved by many and made some amazing music in his short 38 years on this planet. I was as big as his leg but he was the friendliest person you have ever met and would always listen to you with his eyes, something many natives or Kahuna's can do. In 97" we lost a good brother Israel Kaʻanoʻi Kamakawiwoʻole RIP my friend. His ashes were scattered into the great ocean on July 12th 1997 on Mukua Beach.

It's not possible. Gagsters will kill you if you are killing one of their own, just as we would kill a gangster if they were killing one of our own. We only love people who we connect with.
@BrendanishLeo Жыл бұрын
@@paulis7319I don't know why you think gangsters are related in anyway, but I'll give you a retort. People are willing to die in the name of people they've never met out of duty, love of country, and love of their deity. You've never met your god, whichever one that is. You've met less than 1% of the nation you'd die for. But many are willing. Music can absolutely connect people, physically being together isn't all it takes.

IZ will never be forgotten. It is Nov. 23, 2021, listening to it with my 5 yr. Old grandson. I am introducing IZ to him, and he loves the song and is singing it. IZ lives. I discovered IZ and his music in 2007 got the chance to go to Hawaii a few years back. I felt like I had met him in real time just because I was in a place and saw people and the culture he truly loved. So, dear IZ, wherever you are, I say ALOHA! from the Philippines.

I listen to IZ with my 3 yrs old son. He already loves him and sings with me. (unfortunately I can't carry a note in a bucket.) We watch his 'somewhere over the rainbow' video together, and he recognizes him immediately as ' big guy who sings; , then we continue to his song together. He is not ready to understand concept of passing away, so at the end of video, so when he asked what they are doing, I had to say they are celebrating his birthday and his life. In a way, that is true... We all will be gone one day, not just our body. Truly, when there is no one else left to remember us, but I believe as long as someone lives, he'll be remembered, in a good way. I did my part, as of 2023, someone born 2020 knows this soul. Iz is still alive.

hackman669 well, if it's true, why did his angel let him eat so much junk food that he died ? Actually there is no such thing as angel or soul, just neuron composed brains that are data treatment machines. One part of these brains makes that ppl love junk food because it used to be rare in nature, which explains why he ate so much he died. Another part of this neural net creates ~random thoughts which allow you to learn things ,but sometimes it goes wrong and you end up with stupid thoughts just like "we have magic souls" or "every good soul have an angel". And if you ask why it does work like that and start again randomly thinking it's some god's shit, well, it's like that because it's the best way for something to survive with our world's physics. Im always open to discussion in order to learn more if anyone wants it

His soul was pure and he was a good man. He was beloved by his people and a honored relation. Anyone who focuses on the shell of a man will never see the true greatness within. It is his light that touched so many and continues to shine.. Rest in peace.

Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's rendition of "What a Wonderful World" is a testament to his stature as an iconic figure in Hawaii's musical culture. Through his soulful interpretation, the song becomes a heartfelt expression of awe and appreciation for the beauty of the world. The lyrics paint vivid images of nature's wonders and the simple joys of life. IZ's rendition captures the essence of the original song and infuses it with a unique Hawaiian charm, making it a timeless piece that resonates with audiences globally. As he sings about the colors of the rainbow and the kindness of people, the music becomes a celebration of life's wonders. Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwo'ole's rendition stands as a musical legacy, reminding us to find joy in the world's simple pleasures.
