Matt became their bass at the end of 2017. This is the only member change in their eleven years. They occasionally use instruments, but when they do, the instruments will be shown in the video. Recommend their Amazing Grace.

It's incredible that they basically just added the last 2 members right before the Sing Off and then won it and that only 1 person has left group and 1 added. What I love is that they don't seem to ever compete for the spotlight, they highlight all of them so well.

Wait until you see Kevin celloboxing(something he invented & how he was discovered by Scott for Pentatonix). He literally beat boxes while playing the cello. He does it in some of their performances (Havana cover for one). Avi (bearded guy in beanie from other videos) left in 2017, on good terms for personal reasons, & Matt Salee replaced him. Both are tremendous bassists! That is the only change in lineup although you might think there’s other changes because Mitch & Kirstie change their appearance so much! All their music is good so just choose songs you like to start & learn how they do their cover/upgrades & then you can move in to their wonderful original stuff. Starting with their medleys (Daft Punk Medley or 90’s Dance Medley...choose which type of music you like more 🤷🏼‍♀️are a good start) or with their “Evolution” videos (Evolution of Music, Evolution of Michael Jackson, or Beyoncé, or Rihanna, or Ariana Grande.... Have fun!

They offer the best harmonies out there. I love all of the songs they cover and their original music too. I am unable to pick a favourite as each member is insanely talented. Bohemian Rhapsody blows my mind each time I hear it and Carol of the Bells is so precise with all of the harmonies ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Love your reactions to ptx. I was scrolling through your uploads and I think I’ll be watching many of your other content as well. As for PTX reactions requests... I like a reactor to get a sense of the incredibly wide range of their talent and versatility so my recommendations in no particular order: No (listen to original for reference) Gold (absolutely must listen to original for reference) Evolution of ... videos (all of them) New rules x Are you that somebody La la latch Silent night (best version of my favorite Christmas song) Can’t hold us Say something (kevin will play cello and beatbox simultaneously) Shallow (kevin will play cello and beatbox simultaneously) Dance of the sugar plum fairy Daft punk These are just a few off the top of my head. And hopefully provide you with an of their range. I chose songs that had music videos so you could see who is doing what. It’s hard sometimes to follow. Also, the only member to change is the bass (Avi Kaplan was the second singer in hallelujah and needed to go his own way). Matt sallee is the current bass (3rd singer in sound of silence) and scott (tall blond, started both songs, takes over bass when the actual bass is taking the lead). I hope you continue getting to know ptx and sharing your journey with us because it’s wonderful to witness. Great job. Keep it up!

Kirstin used to be pretty shy, but I think her Broadway stint (she played the ingenue role in the musical Kinky Boots for a couple of months) really gave her the confidence she always needed. Those "bell tones" are a Pentatonix trademark! If you want to hear them at lightning speed, try New Rules x Are You That Somebody? That's also one of their most complicated arrangements, and has dynamite performances by Matt as bass and Kevin on beatboxing.

Bohemian Rhapsody, Daft Punk Medley, Shallow, and Havana are a few of my favorites. Their cover of Gold is effortlessly awesome, but I'd recommend watching the original if you're not already familiar with it so you can see the differences.

In addition to the absolute POWERHOUSE of their voices in this, I love the way each singer continuously sways and bobs, moving their arms as though they're _weaving_ music. Kevin's percussion is beautiful here; to see more of the wonder of his vocal beatbox sound effects, watch their official video of "Daft Punk." Also, while Kevin is said to have swallowed a drum set, I'm convinced that Matt has ingested a tuba. His deep humming is mesmerizing, and that point where he seems to effortlessly slide down about nine octaves in a single breath...damn. It's like being hit in the face with a wet cat, but in a good way. :D

To truly appreciate Kevin's talent you need to check out some of the solo stuff he creates in his home studio with a loop machine, sound board, layering his vocals, instruments all played by him and beat boxing sounds all live one cut, like "Down" (Marian Hill KOver) - Kevin Olusola. NUFF SAID LOL
