When Paul moaned about Alan Titchmarsh copying his show, you have to remember that Paul used to be on ITV first with his teatime show until 2006 when he jumped ship to Channel 4. In 2007, ITV were left with Paul's old set, so they got Alan to do a similar style talk show, and it is no surprise to save cash they used Paul's old 2004-2005 set structure.

I will never, to this day, work out what Paul saw in Cilla Black. By all accounts she was GHASTLY. A monstrous snob with a terrible reputation in the service industry. I thought Paul had a bit more integrity - especially after the way he used to mercilessly slag her off in the early 90's.

They were very close friends and had a similar sense of humour. They both came from Liverpool way and seemed to have a close bond, liked going out to theatre/musicals etc and holidays together. Who said Cilla was awful? We didn't know her, but Paul did and they were very close.

If I ever win the Lottery I'm going to call up Paul and Offer him a bribe of a big donation to Battersea Dog and Cat Rescue, if he will join me for a lovely dinner. I think he is one of the most genuine, honest, kind, witty, talented people in the business. He can make you roar with laughter one minute and be weeping 5 minutes later.
