Chris, as this song has been covered endless times, I was quite curious as to how you would perform it. I closed my eyes to listen and the words I'd describe it as was - 'very smooth'. I first heard this song performed by kd lang, and for the longest time that was my favourite version. I thought only a Canadian could sing it with the heart required by its Canadian composer. You could be considered an honorary Canadian.

last night, i listened to him sing this before i went to bed. it was late, everyone was getting ready for bed. my computer was on and i was sitting up on my bed, i was inside my room when i was listening to this song. it was cold and dark. I took one look at him, took a deep breath and cried interally.
