1:02:30 - Patton is absolutely right. Raiders of the Lost Ark is based on 1930s serials that meant absolutely nothing to young people in the 1980s. Spielberg and Lucas re-packaged stuff they grew up with, made it sleeker, less camp, and boom- instant classic, and one of the all time great adventure films.

DUDE! I was at ATP NY 2009 and have always been SO CURIOUS if it was a memorable experience for you! It's always been in my mind as this kind of high water mark - It all happening in that beautiful Kubrickian relic that was Kutsher's in The Catskills ... the lineup was INSANE, it was SO chill yet SO wasted, artists and fans commingling like we were all cosplaying as students at this dreamlike fantasy derelict high school. I discovered Led Zeppelin during the 90's while I was in high school, they've become probably my favorite "classic rock" band of all time, and I swear to god Stairway To Heaven NEVER appealed to me. I like about the last minute of it when it really kicks into high gear, but most of it just does nothing for me. (ftr, When The Levee Breaks is my favorite song of theirs)

Can't believe they're talking about the Day the clown cried reading after hearing it on "It Was a Sh*tshow Podcast". Also, there was an earlier episode (I think Janeane Garofalo), in which she refers to a show in which David did a bad flip and landed on his back (in that episode he has no memory of this). Patton says here he remembers David doing this in one of the 'The Day The Clown Cried' shows

I do the 'heart/ arm' word substitution thing with 'ticket' and 'chicken.' So you end up with hits like "Chicken to Ride" and "Two Chickens to Paradise." Also, it's really crass, but "eyes" is close to "ice" which sounds like "ass" if the accent is weird enough. So then any song about looking into someone's eyes takes on a rather unsavory bent. Edit: Is the lead singer/ guitarist of Mudhoney now Mark Heart? That 'heart' that's out of a job has to work somewhere.
