For all the jokes that this show produces, it sometimes has some really serious hard hitting scenes and I love that

I just feel like that's what comedy is :)

Yeah, I appreciate that they don't just skirt around these sensitive issues and tackle them in a very raw way. ❤

This is was so realistic of a alcholic!! I like that everyone stood up for Vod

The way they all stood behind Vod was surprisingly heartwarming. ❤

It took me ages to realise that Vod’s mum also plays JJ’s mum in Skins and the waitress who Alyssa insults in TEOTW. She’s so talented :-)

I’ve watched this episode quite a few times now and I really hate how Vod’s mum never gets any sort of comeuppance. No one stands up to her alcoholic rage. If a drunk mum is smashing up your student house irl, someone is stepping in with force.

I don't know man , these are young people that haven't experienced someone like this before and Vod is so used to it that she just prepares. This scene hits me so hard cause its too real and I think it's easier said than done to put an end to it. And when you've grown up with it, you're not even surprised when it happens, you just stay out the way cause any other approach is gonna escalate the situation. The next day they're happy, back to normal and get defensive and angry if you remind them what happened. It's not so easy to deal with

@@rakadoni8403 I'm a 6 ft 2 and 200lbs man with plenty of life experience and I still wouldn't go anywhere near a raging alcoholic woman. What are you supposed to do, hold her down for hours while she claws and bites you? Nah, evacuation was the right call.

I found this really funny because it is like an awkward confrontation you would witness on the subway, zawe ashton def brought a depth to Vod who could have ended up being a one-dimensional goth-girl druggie caricature

The sad thing is, I've met parents like this. I'm a father of 3 great (for the most part!) children that are THE most important thing in my life (along with my lovely wife) But so many people have kids because that's the norm, but truth be told dont actually want to be a parent to those kids. People who can't wait to send their kids to boarding school, or off to the child minder etc. If you can't look after your own f@#%ing kids, you shouldn't have them!!! Anyone can have a child, but it takes hard work to be a real mum or dad!!!

You're right. Anyone can have a child, but not everyone can be a parent
