That's not true. I listen to most of my songs because of the beat, and to be honest, I prefer nowadays rappers than to rappers like Tupac or Biggie, because I just prefer the beat. It's just that these days, hip hop is now more about the beat than the lyrics. People get angry because they just rap about hoes, money, more bitches, weed, success, popularity, and all, but they emphasize on the beat, but hell, they still need to rap, so they just use lyrics that could be written by a 6 years old with Tourette's, but it sounds good. Now even rappers with actually good lyrics have a good beat, like Eminem by exemple. Of course, I totally understand that some people almost just listen to lyrics in a song, but I don't understand how it makes us bad, stupid, and people who have no taste in music because we like it for a different reason.
