Me! 👋😂 But he's such a hoot! John Clease, Taylor Swift & Lewis Capaldi on the red couch was absolutely worth it. But I've been following Graham Norton on TV for almost 2 decades. He went being a stand-up comic in London & Edinburgh to hosting his TV show in 2007. He's retiring pretty soon, apparently. But these vids will keep him alive forever! 🤣

the bands and singers of the ‘60’s and ‘70’s have continued to be well known till the 2010’s - yes, Paul, Ringo (+ John , George, who are still with us), the Rolling Stones, Neil Diamond, Cher, Meatloaf, Aretha still, /and singers from the ‘80’s, Madonna, Cyndi, Steve Perry, Joan Jett, Celine Dion, and loads more i can’t think of right now. Every generation has the singers who are just so iconic and so good, that they last - Muddy Waters, Cab Calloway, Bing Crosby, the Frank Sinatra / from the ‘50’s, Elvis, Paul Anka (mostly composing)/ and so many theatre singers who fade away, but are still with us.

I had never been much of a thrifter, until I found myself living alone in a one bedroom apartment in the Westend. Between the space in my building’s basement that people leave stuff when they move, and things that are left in the alleys, OMGosh….treasure islands! Shelving systems, very expensive coffee machine, Ninja bullet, air conditioner, balcony plant stands, dining table and 6 chairs, printer, tub chair, tea kettle, a good tabletop BBQ that still ignites after 3 years! Everything was either fixable or made to look custom. I had actually bought the smallest microwave I could find, got it home, still thought it was too big and ugly. Lives with it for a few months, saw that someone had left a tiny microwave downstairs, brought it up to my apartment, loved the size and how it disappeared on a shelf, so kept it and took my almost new microwave down to the basement. Pay it forward, right?

Am I the only one who found that first clip to be awkward and quite patronising? That first joke of "Me and John didn't get an invite" was a bit rude when she was trying to be earnest about how she appreciated the people that had given so much for her, but then they just kept on with the patronising comments like "I think the word you're looking for is 'no'" - you could see how annoyed she got at that.

Of course its rude, thats the British style of humour and you're supposed to laugh at that rudeness, not be offendet, but only those Americans get that right, who are accustomed to it. Whoever is invited to Graham and does show up there knows what he or she is up for and they do come again and again. The guy with that "no" comment was one of Britains most famous comedians of all times and even younger Americans could know his work because it is legendary. (By the way, Stephen Colbert can be just as rude and I love him, too.) This is from an anglophile 70 year old German lady, who adores Grahams shows, especially because of all the funny interactions between the guests, its my laughing potion and elixir XD
