Music is a vital part for watching a great movie. I'll never forget that opening theme song for "Charade".

Possibly my very favorite song by Henry Mancini. I have a lot to choose from his library of music! At a young age I did learn to play this on the piano (nothing as complex & beautiful as he is doing here), as it was a favorite of my mother's as well. This is an especially lovely performance, which I've never seen before. Thank you for all that you are uploading on this channel, to which I've just subscribed.

This is such a sentimental sad song. Even the lyrics perfectly describe when love ends and you are left alone in a dark room you once shared with the woman you loved with all your heart. I’ve had such moment when we were both very young and very much in love. We both didn’t know what we were supposed to do, kind of like guessing our roles we were supposed to play, like two children playing house. Once she was gone from my life, I missed her so much but there was nothing I could do. Even today, after so many years, whenever I hear this song, it still brings back my sweet sad memories.

Fantastic piano player and he gets overlooked because he's so famous as a composer.

I wonder what song beat this. The year before in 1963, Mancini won the academy award for best song with Days of Wine and Roses.

Today's fake performers and greedy music producers don't even come close to comparing to the sheer talent and perfection of Mr. Mancini and his Orchestra.
