The issue is no one respects Tony Khan. From MJF to CM Punk to the Elite. None of these guys take the "boss" seriously. The wrestlers are too used to telling Tony what's going to happen instead of the other way around. Tony should strip the EVP titles, hire a booker and make it clear that what the booker says goes. And if anyone has a problem with that here is what you're owed and good luck in your future endeavors.

If not, well even in storyline I think it's a demotion if you want your company to be taken seriously as a company.
@DK-BayBay2 жыл бұрын
I'm 100% behind Punk on this. Many AEW fans are saying fire him LOL its no wonder none of them nor the EVPS have a sense for business. Punk is by far the biggest draw in the company. Highest segments and google searched. Bucks arent even top 10 in the company for google searches. Segment wise, since Omega return all the the Elites segments lose 200k viewers. No joke they lose 20% of their audience when they're on tv. Idk if its because they dont like the style or just know they're winning so whats the point. Other thing is these are EVPs, why are you storming the locker room of an individual who is obviously HOT. Address it in the morning like pros, and have a sit down once everything has cooled down. You don't 3v1 a guy who just shit on you with no regard for 10 mins and expect a "good" outcome. Also for the company in general, Punk and a handful of others do all the PR for AEW. The Bucks do nothing. It is similar to when Cody was doing everything and again no Bucks anywhere. Kenny was doing video game stuff, so I will give him a pass. But if you're an EVP you gotta be at those comic cons and news stations doing PR to promote the company. These guys want to fuck around, buy shoes, and upload stuff on YT to draw the audience. That's the reason nobody searches them on google because they're not out there doing the work, and relying on word of mouth. Its why they were stagnant in ratings and house draws because 1 EVP was out there actually putting an effort into growing. Its pretty embarrassing when you look at Twitter or SM and everyone is pissed at Punk but doesn't see it for what it is. The Bucks rather than doing business and having a huge draw match with FTR, dropped the titles and then put different ones on themselves lol. And they didn't even get pinned while losing those belts. Can anyone see the issue here or they just blind? Think about why Cody left, connect dots, and it starts to make sense.

Punk burned the bridge. The Bucks and Kenny wanted to talk to him. Yet it was Punk who threw the first punch. Meanwhile, Kenny escorted the dog outta there, and Ace Steel bit Kenny afterwards. It was a messy situation, but Punk started all this. Business aside, Punk was terribly in the wrong for what he said in the media scrum and for striking first against The Elite, and also Steel for biting a man wtf. The most disappointing part of this whole thing has been the (subtle) ways many members of the wrestling media have been portraying the events that come off as more favourable for the elite - leaking out certain bits of info piecemeal without qualifying whose camp it is coming from (either from punk, the EVPs or an independent third party), some people tweeting out the memes and jokes in favour of the bucks and omega and even tweeting their show releasing today. @segagenesis77082 жыл бұрын
They have fault. But here's the issue and why Punk is getting ripped to shreds. When you are the Champion, highest paid and favorite of Tony Khan, why are you even bothering with this foolishness? Like, Adam Page made his comment to you face to face, but you make yours in a promo when you know he can't come out? Instead of just addressing him backstage and leaving it at that? And now you're running him down AGAIN, when you know he can't come out, when you should have been over it? This is Punk's reputation. It's always been his reputation. No matter how much you give him, he'll find something to get mad about, and harp on it. He practically challenged the EVPs to a fight in the scrum. Don't go back to your locker room and act surprised if someone comes looking for one. Now, 3 on 1 would be BS, but now Warner Execs are involved and the main event at Grand Slam is at risk. Which would cost AEW millions. All because you couldn't just be peace with winning. You just had to get your proverbial hit back ten fold.
@davyjones20322 жыл бұрын
Depends on where you go. The love of Punk blinds people maybe more. They were hijacking shows for years. If anything the fanbases are similar. Intitially bonded by mutual hate of WWE. I can see both viewpoints. The Elite and AEW have controlled wrestling media for some years now. People just ignored it because it was anti Vince and WWE. People don't necessarily care if something is biased as long as it's favorable to their opinions. So it's a group of people who are dorks who only do things there way with a niche audience vs a guy who goes scorched earth the moment he's upset. Bound to butt heads.

Differentiating between a talent and an EVP is an excellent take. I loved the thought-provoking point of view that there is a separation between being a wrestler and the separation of management. They lose that title of “one of the boys”, though they need to be professional as both talent and management. I would state to them to read their responsibilities as EVPs - it should be clearly stated what their responsibilities consist of. Set a meeting. That’s what I do as a department head - call meetings as needed with my team.

I'm not a regular on Jim's page as I usually disagree with his opinions, but as a fan of both Punk and the Elite I'll say this. I don't think Punk was in the wrong, it's weird to me how when the Elite were on top everyone was so happy in AEW but as soon as some bigger stars came in we started hearing about dozens of disgruntled superstars. People are acting like Punk was the only one upset, but we've seen dozens of reports about wrestlers being upset as of late. What that tells me is the Elite were real happy when they were the undisputed top guys, but when that flag got passed they resorted to childish gossiping and spreading rumors to try and damage the reputation of a guy who literally just came to the company to help. Before anyone comes in with the "Punk needed the money" nonsense, I seriously doubt that. Both Punk and his wife have been very successful over the years and I've seen numerous shows and movies with Punk so I'm sure he's not hurting for cash, especially considering the millions of dollars he made in WWE and UFC. How people can paint Punk as the bad guy or atleast the "only bad guy" is bewildering and really goes to show the delusion of the Elites fanbase. Punk has been getting shit on for months since winning the title and getting injured, he went out and defended himself and then has 3 guys barge into his locker room after a 5 hour show where he's hanging out with his friend, his friends wife, and his dog. Yeah if you barge into my fucking room like that I'm probably inclined to believe I need to defend myself.
