When he talks about the history of hip hop, it´s fantastic. When he talks about other stuff it´s saddening like it´s a different person. I met a guy who went on tour with KRS. He said KRS was mentally ill and totally off. When he was told me this, he wasn´t amped. He was sad and hurt about it and that is all he said. He didn´t give examples or stories he just wanted to leave it at that.

@@Naturalintelligence30 I'm glad hip hop isn't static. It's always changing. Can you imagine how tiresome it would be if every album released sounded the same for 30-40 years? KRS One, I'll admit, isn't someone I'm a huge fan of. I like some of his 90's stuff, but I usually don't care for his flow all that much. By the way, I'm not super familiar with hip hop in 2023. I kind of just listen to the artists I already like. I've become boring in that way. I do sometimes hear newer music played when I'm somewhere out, so I'll pull out my phone and have it find the artist for me. Iike some of the sounds! One time, I was on my way home and a song was playing from somewhere. It was a British rapper called Skepta. Pretty cool music! Another time, I was volunteering as a bartender, and I think it was Offset that was playing. I'm not negative on new hip hop music at all. I'm just too lazy these days to spend time discovering them 😂 I'll just add new stuff if I hear it somewhere, but to me, it doesn't sound like hip hop was ever in a bad place. Not to mention, I feel like every single generation speaks negatively on the music that comes after them. The way you feel about the music from your generation is the way the current generation feels about theirs, and the way you feel about their music is the way they will feel about the music that the generation after them listens to.

I must admit that I only listen to Krs one’s few years ago. So ashamed I didn’t hear him sooner but I went into the hyperbolic time chamber and listen to nearly every album he had and he’s easily in my top 5 greatest MCs ever. The flow, delivery and positive energy he brings is what made me fall in love with hip hop in the first place. 50 more years of hip hop indeed salute to the GOAT KRS ONE.
