"Rhapsody" is an ancient word that means "Songs stitched together". A rhapsody in music is a one-movement work that is episodic yet integrated, free-flowing in structure, featuring a range of highly contrasted moods, colour, and tonality. 'Bohemian rhapsody' was written by late singer Freddie Mercury w/ his love for opera... The single came out in 1975 and hit #1 on the charts around the world and became one of the biggest hits of Queen's career. After Freddie Mercury died in 1991, the movie "Wayne's World" featured the song and it went into the top 10 singles chart in 1992 again! Recording 'Bohemian rhapsody' was a challenge - there were so much musicality... there were reportedly 180 overdubs on this 1 track, cos the other band members were getting frustrated in the studio. In the original studio recordings, Freddie sang all the parts of all the harmonies, then the tracks were mixed together. He had to match the timing, pace, and harmonies of all the other parts he sang as he went. They had dozens of tracks to mix on only an 8 channel mixer. They often wore tapes out in the playbacks and mixing process, having to transfer what they had so far to another tape so they could continue. An absolute masterpiece of a performance as well as artistic crafting.
@treetopjones737 Жыл бұрын
Brian, Roger, & Freddie ( Deacon wasn't a singer, though simple back-up is possible ) sang parts, and then it was overdubbed MANY times ( they put a little scene of this in the dramatized movie ). The original first track of the vocals by itself does not sound that great. In concert, they just ran the tape for that part of the song, as they would've had to hire a full choir and taught them all the parts, just not feasible to do on tour. Then they came out and performed the rest.

Freddie Mercury was Indian...very light skinned Indian. His family said they didn't believe he would have never gotten as far as he did if he had been dark skinned like them...Idk. But he brought his culture and his love of opera to his music! The way he arranged this music was amazing!!! Before his death he had a dream come true ...to sing in an opera with Soprano Montserrat Caballé! She is an exceptional opera singer and Freddie met with her in 1987. They not only recorded the opera Barcelona but made an entire album together! Freddie was overjoyed...he could not believe..as he put it...the most beautiful voice in the world was singing his music! Freddie and Monserrat performed 'Barcelona' together on October 8, 1988, at La Nit festival in Barcelona to celebrate the arrival of the Olympic flag from Seoul. It would sadly be the last performance for Freddie who died in 1991.

At last, a masterful song from one of the greatest bands. Great reaction - could actually see you trying to work out what was going on, whilst being blown away by it! And to think the record company executive didn't want to release it as a single uncut, as they thought it was too long. Radio plays of the full song by one of Freddie Mercury's friends (Kenny Everett) and the rest, as they say, is history. Timeless brilliance.

Queen is a British rock group formed in 1971 consisting of: Freddie Mercury - Lead vocalist and piano Roger Taylor - Drummer and vocalist John Deacon - Bass guitar Brian May - Lead guitar and vocalist They were one of the most successful and influential groups of the 20th century. All four of the members of Queen were not only extremely talented musicians but they all were composers of their music. They are the only group in which each member composed a least one song that became a hit single. Bohemian Rhapsody (BoRap) was created by Freddie Mercury. They produced 15 studio albums and performed concerts all over the world to crowds as large as 250,000. Their 20-minute performance at the worldwide broadcasted Live Aid Concert in 1986 (whose purpose was to raise money to fight the famine and feed the starving in Ethiopia) is considered the best live performance of a musical group ever (and yes, there is a youtube video of it). You have heard a lot of Queen music (because it is everywhere) but were unaware that it was Queen. Have you heard: "We Will Rock You" (written by Brian May), "Another One Bites The Dust" (written by John Deacon), or "We Are The Champions" (written by Freddie Mercury)? They are all Queen hit songs.

This is fascinating! I've been watching these kinds of You Tube vids for hours, it's 1am as I write, it's amazing to see people who are hearing these songs for the first time nearly 50 years after it came out. I first heard it in 1975 when I was 5 years old, so I can't remember how I felt, so I'm almost envious! It's also great to see that your reactions at certain parts are much the same as mine.

I've watched 8 hours straight of reactions to one song before. Like this one, IN the Air Toniight and Love by the Dashboard Light, abd, Too Much Heaven. Because they all provoke great reactions. When Barry Gibb hit those first high notes, all the woman go weak in the knees.

Lol Im dieing over here watching yalls shock face in the middle operatic part 😂 Then it all comes together for you and you realize this damn thing is a masterpiece😎👍🏻 You just listened to one of the greatest male voices in rock, if not the best. Freddie was a beast of a singer. Pure beast. You know there are alot of channels that you can tell they kind of "act". You guys dont. The reaction is real. Which is cool and much funner to watch than the over the top fake channels. One thing though, Ive noticed pretty much universally with the authentic reactioj channels: Everyone really loves Queen. Its nice to see. Ive always known they are awesome. And its good to see young folks realize Queen is the stuff. A little trivia: The guitarist uses a metal coin as a pick. Which is unusual. One of the ways he gets that biting sound on the guitar. And I think the word you are looking for is "quartet". And harmony. Melody is the lead. What Freddie sings. The main "tune" of the song. The harmony is done by the other guys. Maybe that helps.

The silence after the song was over is exactly what I was looking for. You used the word "experience" when describing this song. That means Freddie's mission was complete. The show much go on is a great song by queen. Especially if you know the story behind it.. ill let you look into it to see if you want to react to it. Great video you guys!

You will never experience another truly greater song by Queen then this one in my opinion, written by Freddie a true genius and the greatest frontman ever to be! All their songs are great but this one is very special and in my opinion there is never going to be a band top it, ever! Freddie in himself was unique and the mold was broken never to another talent like his or voice!

It's a masterpiece... over a billion views higher than any other songs by any other groups. Start with this song again but 5 years later LIVE in Montreal...it is also so fire. Then go to their 1st #1 hit in the U.K. KILLER QUEEN...then SOMEBODY TO LOVE, live in Montreal and ANOTHERONE BITES THE DUST , live at Wembley for his voice and showmanship skills...then WHITE QUEEN, live at the Hammersmith Odeon and then for a crazy performance PLAY THE GAME at the Milton Keynes,,, Fire! they have100s of songs in different genres and were voted the best live band of all time. Once you gone down the Queen rabbit hole, treat yourself to what many consider the greatest rock performance of all time = their performance at Live Aid, a concert to raise money for the famine in Ethiopia in 1985 with all famous bands of the day but Queen stole the show...the press called the high prolonged of Freddie's :the note that was heard around the word...it's 20 minutes but will feel like 5 guaranteed!!!

I still find it hard to believe, even nearly 50 years later, that there is anyone who hasn’t heard this. I find it even harder to credit that, after stereo recordings became prevalent in the 70s, and technology gradually progressed until we got 22.2 surround sound, so many people in this generation have hardly even experienced the full stereo experience in music. I blame mobile music devices and Bluetooth speakers. Audiophiles are few and far between these days.

You just watched the best rock and roll song of all time! This song has stood the test of time and always will. Freddie Mercury wrote the whole song alone. It was three songs in his head and he couldn’t finish any of them and then it came to him. There is no other band that can do all genres of music like Queen. Everyone of the the band has written number one hits and everyone has a college degree. Brian May lead guitar has a PhD in Astrophysics. The talent in this band is unsurpassed. I could go on forever, but check out Live~Aid, the concert has been thought of as one the best live concerts ever!

Great one guys. This is easily one of the three greatest songs in pop history, it's pretty much known by everyone in the free world and since it's release in 1975 has been a staple on FM radio, I can't believe you two have never heard this one. Queen is one of those legendary bands. I remember around 74 when I was sixteen and I heard the name Queen I thought what kinda crap is this, Queen? Little did I know that these guys could rock and went on too maybe be the greatest live band in history too see in concert. I got to see them in Pittsburgh on August 24, 1980 at the Civic Arena. I still have my ticket stub and will always remember that date because my son was born on August August 24, 1994 the same date. The Civic Arena was a legendary building. It opened in 61 or 62 I think and was the first domed arena in the world with a retractable roof. It was the home of the Pittsburgh Penguins and I don't know how many times I saw Mario Lemieux and Jagr (one of the greatest duos in NHL history) play together and then Sidney Crosby and Evgani Malkin play together and are still together and have won 3 Stanley Cups together and then two more from the first two so we have five. Between the Steelers and Pens we are very fortunate here. They tore the Civic Arena down about 9 yrs ago and replaced it which is a shame. I couldn't even begin too list the number of legendary rock stars who performed there. I can tell you that I was fortunate enough too see The Beatles there in September, 1964 when I was 6 yrs old. My birthday was a few weeks before this and I drove my parents crazy that I wanted too see them as my birthday present. I had a regular birthday and then several weeks later my parents gave me an envelope with another birthday card and inside were 4 tickets to the concert my parents and my older sister and I. You had too experience Beatlemania firsthand too realize the craziness of the fans. There were like 12,000 fans which were mostly teenage girls and you could hardly hear anything with all of the screams. I was getting pissed off, I was there too hear The Beatles not thousands of crazy girls. This experience is one of my the fondest memories of my life now. They only toured the US 3 times, 64-66 and only came to Pittsburgh that one time so I feel really lucky too have had that experience. What's funny here is that you have on a Giants shirt and the last live concert in front of an audience they ever performed anywhere in the world was at San Francisco's Candlestick Park on August 29, 1966.They said goodbye too the insanity of touring after this show and went into the studio and became a studio band after that. I would love too see you two check out the video The Beatles performing "Hey Jude" on the Dick Cavett Show 1968 and the sound and color are great, it's one of those iconic moments in music history. The last three and a half minutes of the song will blow you away. I've seen this reacted to a lot but if it gets blocked check it out on your own time, it's well worth the watch. A very Merry Christmas too the both of you and your little one. Take care and stay safe. 🎄🦌☮️✌️💕

This is my favorite band of all time. They are so dynamic, you never know what you will get when you fire up a Queen song but you know it will be great. They hit on every genre and were the trailblazers for many of them. Queen is so good live you will not believe it. Somebody To Love, live at Montreal, White Queen Live at Odeon, Hammersmith 1975.. Queen songs you probably know: We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions, Another One Bites The Dust, Under Pressure. The Queen catalog is huge and fabulous. Check it out, you will not be disappointed. Thanks for a great reaction. Queen Live Aid will give you a taste of how together this band is and the control Freddie Mercury (Frontman, Lead Vocalist, Piano) has over a crowd, they are eating out of his hand. The crowds they pulled in were massive also, up to around 300,000 per show.

You've been Freddie'd! He owned the stage! I was almost (less than a month till I turned) 16 when this came out, and I've loved Queen's music (and Freddie) since then! Also, glad you waited and heard the part of Freddie whispering 'any way the wind blows' and then the gong! A lot of reactioners say something over it, and it is an awesome part!
