There was NO PTC failure. The UP was added on in Tucson Arizona due to engine issues.

Yes they are, but they are not the same venture coaches at Europe and VIA Rail has. The walk through doors are not sliding glass and are missing lots of other modern features demanded by modern rail passengers.

My last Amtrak trip on the Texas Eagle a few years ago was extremely disappointing. Running six hours late, (track work in Missouri), food was horrible, and my roomette smelled like bad BO. Between south Arkansas and Texas the locomotive horn stopped working limiting the train to 25Mph until reaching a U.P. yard in Texas where it was repaired. Adding another 2-3 hours to the delay. Swearing I would never ride Amtrak again, a friend reminded me about my return from a business trip in Toronto. My 8AM departure turned into a 6PM departure due to the plane having mechanical issues and weather delays. Not to mention my luggage got lost and when found looked like it had been through a paper shredder. So before kicking Amtrak around too much, we need to remember any type of travel is prone to problems including mechanical failures.

I can remember going out of Chicago for DC and trains left before ours and so we were routed to the Great lakes run and our engine blew up the radiator on front engine and we sat in a sliding for 8 hours.

The mechanical department turns two different consists at one time. The consist for 305 and 307 are turned on the high line track to become 300 and 301.

Some may already realize that both UP and BNSF Railroads spend plenty of Time “Towing” Antiquated/Broken Equipment for Amtrak. A Routine Occurrence. 🤔👎

Lol amtrak doesn't get enough taxpayers money than the airlines and airports. then amtrak is at the mercy of the Railroad tracks that it mainly uses after taxpayers pays for tracks maintain fees to that Railroad. Oh and don't forget all the Railroad grand crossing gates and equipment taxpayers pays for the Railroad just maintain them . Yes I'm pro passengers trains and Railroaders check your facts.
