Happy Birthday Mark, from northwestern Alberta, Canada. Wish I could just tap my magic wand and be on location there! Your music has meant so much to me in many ways over many years. After I had to give up playing sax for medical/accident-related issues, I decided to have a go at learning to play guitar, although I'd never played a note on one previously. I found I could not make things work with a pick, but fingerstyle - it was like a glove that fitted "just right" - possibly as a result of many years playing sax. I'm still working away at learning - that never stops - and I find that if I miss even one day of practice, it's noticeable. Thank you so very much for everything you've done, whether as musician, composer, guitarist, band leader and collector of wonderful musical-history moments, such as "Sailing to Phildelphia." I have to put in a plug for my all time favorite, "Tunnel of Love" - that and "Walk of Life" are songs that never get old. Happy Birthday, and best wishes for many more!

This man never stops amazing me. I truly love Mark Knopfler and his style. He is one of the one and only artist that I have on my bucket list to see before I leave this world. I came close one time when he was in the states but we were just returning from vacation when he was in our area. We pray he will tour the states again and give us enough time to plan the event.
