She’s still an icon and role model for me til nowadays. If you were to ask me “who is your favorite miss universe?” she would be the first one.

I still remember watching Miss Universe 2011 on tv. Although I was sentimentally rooting for Miss Philippines, Leila was undeniably the winner that night. And I remember the crowd totally cheering for her, especially during the final look. What a queen!!

no, she wasn't the surprise. she was as beautiful, she was graceful and according to her answer, she was smarter. what's your reasoning for she being THE SURPRISE? The two most striking women were the top two, with Miss Brazil being as striking. the bottom two were Philippines and China. the judges got it right. she answered from the heart. the 3rd runner up was trying to hard, wasn't genuine. china did a poor job of answering. brazil was ok, she too tried hard, but not as the delegate from the philippines.
