Whether she intended to do so or not, Cheslie was leaving some serious red flags about her mental health that should have been easy to pick up on. But because she concealed her agony so well that not even her own _mother_ knew until it was too late, these signs were easily overlooked. I’m going through my own battles with stress and depression (amplified by being a military serviceman in a fast paced, high-stress unit with a toxic environment), and I can’t help but feel my heart break for this beautiful girl. I wish I was a personal friend of hers that could have saved her. Cheslie, I hope you’re finally at peace, and I hope to see you on the other side eventually. Our hearts mourn for you. I’m sorry.

Many years ago, my younger brother was going thru something similar and my mom took the next flight to Los Angeles. Two week later he was on point. Mom stayed in LA for a few months. Cheslie never talk about a boy friend or a relationship. Never see a guy in any of her many videos. I don't think she had a Black or White issue. Only her mom knows what happened in her mind. I saw the Miss USA pageant the day she won. I saw her again when she represented the U.S. in the Miss Universe pageant & then again recently when she was a commentator on the most recent Miss Universe pageant. She always seemed to be confident & happy. One would think she had it all together, had a bright future & was living her best life. I was shocked to hear of her death. I thought how tragic, never once thinking it was suicide. For some reason it has really affected me in a scary way. I have never struggled with depression or had thoughts of suicide myself but suddenly I'm wondering how many people I know or those around me are struggling but trying to hide it. Unlike you, looking at this video knowing what happened, I thought I could see her relating this conversation to her own situation. Then again, I may be reading more into it. Had I seen it when it originally aired, I would not have thought that.

Not saying turning 30 may have made a smidgen for what really ailed her & her method of dying - she made sure her entire being would be shattered no possibility of going out easy/to be rescued. She was tormented from something but I don't buy turning 30 as the main reason.

Everybody should just buck up, smile, and be happy. Right? As a depressed person myself, I so wish I could do just that. It feels like the lights are on but nobody is really home. Another analogy is that Cheslie could have been surrounded by everybody who loved and admired her and just wanted to give her a hug. But with depression, there was a huge part of her that could not be reached, no matter how hard anybody tried - a terrible feeling indeed! Some medications in the right doses have helped so many but I think a lot of these medications do more harm than good and I suspect that there is more than one type of medication out there that shouldn't be prescribed to anyone (more experimental than anything else).

She had everything going for her. If this beautiful woman had no hope left, what hope does a regular functioning person have to overcome depression? Sad. I'm gonna keep on trying.

The whole video is a huge red flag....but nobody listened because she was too pretty and intelligent to be on the edge of destroying herself. We think beautiful high achievers are invincible.

This just came up in my suggested videos. Chelsie looked like she had anger, frustration and curiosity flashing on her countenance at times. Seemed like she was searching for how to solve her issues of mental health, but didn’t find them in the talk. I feel some anger about this happening to this young lady, it is a loss, she was stolen from life. It’s like she was in a glass menagerie. Pageants and tv journalism do not allow you to be real, this is an injustice. I believe a close relationship with Jesus Christ is important for mental health as well as counseling. I am so sorry for the loss her family is feeling.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

From her last statement that you can now be at rest and at peace shows she was responding to internet bullies telling her she was black, old, muscular, etc. This bullies have led so many people to suicide in the past! 😭

Miss 2020 was truly a knowledgeable and helpful mental health advocate. Too bad she couldn't sense right then that Chelsey was suffering and in pain.
@isabeltejeda21612 жыл бұрын
Not all the contestants sensed it but looking at the videos the ones who did, should feel bad for themselves because they judged her instead of helping her. The majority of her time was spent alone.

This is so chilling to watch and her eyes say it all! There is no twinkle in her eyes... young woman discussing mental health hit the🎯she couldn't have known how much her words would ring true in regards to the interviewer! This is so ironic, disturbing and extremely sad and confusing. What a waste. In a sense I think she was living a complete lie. I can tell she just 'went through the motions' with this interview but her heart wasn't in it.

This is very sad & interesting to see and hear her talk about mental health...When supposingly, she was suffering in silence with her own mental health. Are they positive that she took her own life and there was no foul play involved 🤔 She seemed so together and healthy minded. May, she rest in peace..😇🙏

My sis tears Brother are very accomplished. I’m black sheep wear my heart on my sleeve. They expect me to just get through it. No excuses. They don’t care that I. Severity depressed & have a ptsd. I cried when I heard about Chelse it just hurt I don’t know when I’ve cried over someone I never met. It just made me think my sisters so well accomplished. I’m not but I feel like chelse felt everyday.

I feel that as long as she was active around others she was fine i think she fought the voices and dark thoughts in her mind but at the end theres a part she has to be alone and thats when she battle those thoughts.

I do see the pain now. She also had a lot of regrets about her life. But she shouldn't have. She was a stunning talented intelligent young woman who had accomplished so much in her short years. She should have stood proud and just continue to be thankful to God for what he had allowed her to accomplish. But I don't think she did tha.t she did just the opposite. I think she began to see a lot of things that she had believed was not true and was not really necessary. The world has started changing and perhaps she didn't like what she saw and no longer wanted to be a part of it.

She always seemed to have dead eyes. She probably was disconnected because it didn’t hit her as hard at that very moment. Only she knew what her deal was. I wish people move away from trying to dissect why she did what she did. It could have been a million reasons or nothing. Sadly, so many little girls would have loved to have a conversation with Cheslie. She could have fulfilled a purpose there.

Wow this interview is so interesting. She was really asking all the questions she needed and but I noticed she wasnt sharing back out about herself. I can see how this was hard to miss. Saw her really biting her lips with the mention of certain points, but definitely hard to pick up on. Can definitely use this to save someone else. RIP 💐

My observations. Cheslie was uncomfortable with the topic. The frequent tightness & contraction of her throat muscles plus the twitching of her lips shows discomfort and internal struggle to stay in control. At some point, she tried to use her hands to cover up her non- verbal facial expression, particularly of her 💋 movement. Finally, between 21.45- 50, she lost a bit of that control and train of her thoughts and struggled a bit to catch herself. Her smile was forced. It doesn't go beyond the surface of her face. The discomfort is more apparent when Gabriella was talking about checking on strong friends because they're the ones most likely to have a lot issues going on. Her eyes? I will say she's a bit tired 😫 Overall, she's disconnected, unlike her other passionate bubbling interviews. This is so heartbreaking 💔 😢 May her soul rest in peace.

Rarely do we stare at or into people's eyes. We almost always miss certain signs when others are in pain, I wish we were better at detection, but we're not. This devastating emotional pain grips you and holds you tightly until that one moment of weakness. It is so heartbreaking.🙏🏾😪

Just as most are physically out of shape and develop chronic co-morbitities, even more people are spiritually out of shape with chronic mental morbitities. This fact applies even more so with the melanated nations, through the well known; well established crafty practices and traditions of the lesser, debased nations.

@ Gi Gi I agree, she seemed very different and distracted. She kept mentioning the camera at the beginning. She was engaged when talking about the gym and other things, but when mental health topics were discussed she kept saying ummm hmmm ummm hmmm and the look on her face would change. Very different from the other interviews that I’ve watched.
