1.I think introduction by Dr is must. 2.avoid medical jargon (AMI) 3.when patient shows concern, must show empathy. 4.reassure whenever required.

Exactly she never introduced herself
@Topushpal14 жыл бұрын
I don't think it matters much in this context. It's a language evaluation wherein you're scored on your vocabulary more than those little things which are considered in licensing exams. Whether you wish to introduce yourself, is purely subjective matter.

The lady playing the doctor definitely had an English Speaking background yet even she ran a few problems with her fluency. I'd sound like a typewriter choking on its own sounds come the exam. Nothing gets one as nervous as speaking English.

Hamid Karimi Probably a B bordering on A.. could’ve been a definite A had she not struggled in the middle. Her fluency and intonation are quite good, though.

Try and sit for the exam yourself and let's see how you're gonna do under pressure. Having a stutter is quite common, especially for foreign people. Her stutter probably wouldn't be that noticable if she wasn't sitting for a test.

The applicant apparently seem non medical person. Also, the examiner is doing most of the talking while the case should have been the opposite of it. After the heart attack there are lots of things which needs due addressing, you dummy, its risk of second heart attack, myocardial rupture and alteration of the life style due to psychological and physical stress which is put on post-hospital discharge patient. Repeated ECG, Echo, food intake modification and even angiography should be in the list of suggestions. To reconcile, getting back to normal or stressful activities is so hard for these patients. Also, the applicant is so poker faced, one should show some empathy and concern while talking such a deep inflicted issue of other human being. Examiner has played an amazing role.
@niloofar42824 жыл бұрын
😊 yes but the OET is not a medical test, and there's written subjects that you have to talk about and you're not allowed to just say whatever comes to your mind, if you look at the role play card for this applicant it says that she should reassure the patient and talk about cardiac rehabilitation. you dummy 😊
@kwokhoelim82674 жыл бұрын
I think you're misunderstanding the purpose of the OET exam. OET is an English exam meaning the applicant is judged solely on her proficiency of English and none at all about her medical knowledge. This is not a medical Clinical Skills examination. Thus, applicants are NOT required to show empathy or concern to the examiner. Calling her a dummy is just ironic.
@Chiappi4 жыл бұрын
the test doesn't assess your medical knowledge, but your language and communication skills, you have to follow the cards.
