Here in Canada(basically in any part of the world), everyone should learn to look both ways on streets where traffic is ongoing. Be it the pedestrian or the driver. Obviously, the driver is at the wrong here since he abandoned an accident. MTO clearly states that when involved in an accident, the parties involved should contact the police immediately. The driver could have saved the woman if he did the right thing. My condolences to the bereaved ones..

Grabe naman, nung kamakailan lang husband ng isang international student ang namatay wala pang 24hrs na kararating pa lang nila dito sa Canada… ngayon naman isang international student nung August lang dumating… Hindi mo talaga akalain ang future… condolences kay kuya at sa baby nya… praying and hoping na malagpasan ninyo ang pag subok na ito… 🙏

It’s important to wear reflective clothing at night so that you are visible to drivers and to always be vigilant. There are tons of careless drivers out there and the onus is sadly, always on pedestrians since you don’t stand a chance against a negligent driver and their vehicle. Condolence to your family for this tragic loss.

Naiyak ako, lalo na para sa batang 2 year old lang, napakaaga para sa edad nyang mawalan ng ina. I'm deeply sorry for your loss kabayan. Sa Edmonton Alberta ako noon, munti ding mahagilap, dilang iisa kundi multiple , isang beses, tumakbo na nga akong patawid dahil pedestrian lane naman talaga 'yon pero ang sasakyan di pa rin nag menor, kundi ako tumatakbo, siguro nadale ako, ang backpack ko sa likod ang naabutan pero dahil akoy nakatalagang mabuhay pa kaya ingat ingat tayo , kahit saan...dasal lang talaga ang tanging panangga against danger kahit nakatayo lang tayo kung oras na, ay wala tayong magagawa pa

Life Insurance is very important dito sa Canada at kahit saan panig ng mundo para hindi na kailangan pang humingi ng tulong sa ibang tao.

Just to let you know, hindi naman ASAP ibibigay yung insurance money. May investigation pa yan. May mga requirements pang isu-submit. In times like this, kelangan mo talaga nga help from others, especially that the husband needs to be off work for some time to grieve and bury the wife, so most likely walang income for a month or two. Insurance money can only cover so much.
