Officials inspect various spaza shops in Joburg

Government officials have inspected various spaza shops in Johannesburg today.
The health department visited Naledi in Soweto, while the City of
Johannesburg public safety department raided wholesalers in Devland,
south of Johannesburg.
This comes after several food poisoning cases were reported across the
country in recent weeks.

I grew up during apartheid, we use to have inspectors coming to our rural areas regularly to do inspections, the shops in rural areas where very clean, painted and properly labeled. Now the immigrants have taken over, the shops are both bedrooms and for conducting business. Under apartheid Selling meat and milk where highly regulated, under ANC government everyone can just open butcheriers on the streets and sell meat to everyone, and selling milk with bottles of coldrinks on the streets.
