This brings to mind a tale my brother told me, some years back, of something that happened to him some time before that. He was sitting up late, into the wee hours, playing Doom (it might have been Quake, I can't recall for sure). The rest of the house was in silence so he was able to truly relish the ominous roars, moans and other sounds of the game. Above his head was one of those very large paper globe light shades. This decided to detach itself from the light fitting and drape itself completely over his head. Time for clean undies...
