Build and manage a Maximum Security Prison. As the sun casts it’s early morning rays on a beautiful patch of countryside the clock starts ticking. You’ve got to crack on and build a holding cell to detain the job­ lot of maximum security prisoners that are trundling to your future prison on their yellow bus. As your workmen lay the last brick you don’t have a moment to let them rest as they need to get started on the first proper cell block so you can make room for the next prisoner intake. Once they’ve all got a place to lay their weary heads the fun can really start.
You’ll need a canteen, infirmary and a guard room, oh, and don’t forget to plumb in a toilet, or things will get messy, but what about a workout area? Or solitary confinement cells? Or an execution chamber?
Inspired by Dungeon Keeper, Dwarf Fortress and Theme Hospital and with over 1 million players having spent time inside, Prison Architect is the world’s best lock-­em-­up.
Story Mode:
Prison Architect opens with the story of Edward, a man facing the electric chair for committing a crime of passion. Escape Mode:
Finished your supermax? Got guard dogs roving every corridor and prisoners eating out of your hand? Now you can live the horror by firing up escape mode and play as a prisoner hell-bent on getting the hell out of dodge.
Dig a tunnel, go for the armoury or start a riot and slip out in the chaos, it’s entirely up to you! Figure out how to escape from your own creation, or hit the random button and load one of the 12,000 prisons created by the steam community, whichever you choose it’s not going to be easy...

More lieutenants: 10 is lower because it's 1 lieutenant per 10 gang members. If you change it all the way up to 3, you have 1 lieutenant per 3 gang members. One of the gangs has a higher propensity for violence if they outnumber the guards, so not having guards in any block won't work without a cost in deaths and injuries.

If you're gonna double up on doors (i.e. a short hallway that only has two doors, which could be connected by 1 door, but has 2 for security reasons), I highly recommend adding pressure pads inside that hallway, connected to the interior door. That way, if prisoners want to go into the cellblock, the first door is opened by the door control system, and the second is opened by the pressure plate. That'll take quite the load off your DCS.

The more lieutenants option sets the lieutenant per x persons. Meaning that every lieutenant has some amount of prisoners before he can spawn.

16:05 my thought personally would be to have it so that getting from one cell block to the other requires going through the security room, the idea being that there's almost always gonna be multiple guards in there, so prisoners CANT get between cell blocks without guards seeing it, and being in a position to block the inmates. Then again, my prisons tend to suck, so probably don't pay my thought process too much attention, it doesn't seem to work very well xD

Have the CCTV monitors in the security rooms in the cell blocks, it'll be easy to segregate which camera is attached to which monitor

I think you should use the micromanagement feature and get dog patrols inside the cell blocks during eat or sleep times to sniff out contraband.

Don’t know if you will see this but you are missing a protective custody, since gang will also target ex-member.

Define you need to make the prisoner areas access only to avoid staff/visitors going through them. Also don’t forget about a protective custody area. Maybe in one of those gaps and admin can go in between the walls.

I had an almost entirely self-sustaining prison, but the thing that became an issue (years ago) was that the tunnels the guards found wouldn’t be filled in automatically, so prisoners were shuffled into fewer and fewer cells.. I also would perform a weekly search of everything, and there was no way to automate that..

I think your idea for the security rooms being the way between cell blocks rather than just the 4 doors in a straight row seems like a better idea. Just because it make the cell block seem more secure and I'd say look nice too

The “More Lieutenants” is a ratio of gang members per lieutenant so if you have 10 gang members then you can have 1 lieutenant.

I definately think this could be a fun facility idea. Trying to keep everything seperated can definitely lead to some fun doodads. Though I have to ask are snitches/excops and the like enabled with this new dlc still? Because you don't currently have a place to put anybody who could get killed quickly in a very hang heavy prison
