Even such an album like The Burning World, which Gira has kind of negative feelings about, is great. I agree with Gira that his voice sounds a bit stale in that record compared to previous and later records, but even there he made tremendous songs that I still return to. Before I read Gira's own thoughts about that record I thought his voice mixed well with the music. I guess sometimes one should just listen to the record without the musician's input.

He couldn´t be bothered but definitely one of my teenage dreams which have survived all these years . As for you bumping into Gira ...don´t think he´s changed much , at least that ´core` I fleetingly perceived ...you´ll probably be impressed with his humbleness, politeness and intensity . Shame I was a wreck and was afraid to go and make a fool out of myself amidst them all . The whole band was all there - was 1 hour + on the train with them , and I didn´t have the nerve to go there and talk with Westberg and co. I have been following Swans for over thirty years, and they still continue on their uncompromising, unrelenting path. Micheal sounds like very early Iggy (a major influence) circa 1969/70.
