Not techno but this is traditional dance music so i know what you mean, this is a style called UK garage (4x4 house beats with shuffling high hats, iconic string samples,chopped up pitched vocal samples, sometimes breaks, etc) and it was really popular club music in the 90s/early 2000s

This song, ALWAYS holds one special holy grail in my heart. My late gran, Betty… Man, her house was the best. I remember always playing sa2 and SADX on the gamecube we had there. Tbh the only thing I didn't like in mad space in the past was the capsule planet cuz I thought its humming ambience was kinda scary. I actually found the reversed hints kinda funny. Like, "it's totally _not_ near a crystal on the blue planet's crater LOL." But I understand why people don't like it; it's second hints ( "a low place." "short meteorite." ) can get confusing if you're not constantly reminding yourself "Hey its actually the opposite".
