Yeah, but these commodities don't just exist in a vacuum. They have to be stored. The amount of space you'd need for 25 barrels is pretty huge, depending on location, will easily surpass 2000 USD over a year. And then you'd have to somehow contact a refinery or a reseller who'll come pick it up for a lower price (because the guy has to, you know, account for the price of shipping and convenience).

Was about $25 a year ago, about $23 an ounce now, but it fluctuates a lot and if you want to profit just wait until it's over $25. For those wondering, there is no way they bought a physical barrel and have it shipped to them. No company would send crude oil to a residential address as crude oil is extremely toxic and releases hydrogen sulphide gas which will kill you at 0.07% concentration. You need extremely efficient ventilation and scrubbers to store crude oil without dying.
