I definitely get what you are saying! I don’t know why the Reborn Community act like they created the doll hobby! Dolls have been around wayyy before the reborn community started and will be here long after they run themselves out of business! 💯💯

Thank you Julz for the follow-up! I knew you weren’t leaving the doll community as a whole!😊 Yes, I’ve been feeling the same way about the sculptors, not all, how they are affecting the reborn community (which I never felt I was a part of, mainly because I collect many other types of dolls) and how this will de-value the investment with these dolls. I myself have invested thousands of dollars in reborns that I know I will never fully get that back. Plus this will affect many artists businesses who don’t want to be a part of this, they just want to do what they love, reborn dolls and sell, for some artists this is their main job/career. As an artist myself (I’m not a reborn artist, I do other art mediums like draw, paint, and graphic design), this is sad that the reborn community has come to this. What attracted me to the reborn dolls was the amazing artistry (still does) of the sculpt artists creating a life like looking baby by hand from clay, and the reborn artists bringing them to life with such realism. I’ve been fortunate to have the opportunity to build a nice collection of reborn dolls, and some of my dolls I have are beautifully done and I can really see and appreciate what went into brining that sculpt to life. I’m never going to stop collecting reborn dolls, I am going to take a long break from acquiring more, I’m very happy with the collection I have now. I’m going to focus on collecting other types of dolls that I love to collect. I support the “All Dolls are Welcome”, I believe in the freedom to buy and collect what you want and what makes you happy! I’m excited to hear Belinda with Belinda’s Babies has created a Market Place website for doll collectors to sell, and buy any type of dolls on there. For those here in the chat who haven’t seen Belinda’s video, go over to her channel and check out her video on it, it’s called Belinda’s Babies, I think she is planning to launch it this weekend. I stopped buying authentic reborns too. I thought I would miss it more, but found that I have so much more freedom with my replicas. I don't have to worry about paint rubs, or letting someone hold them.

I find it so sad how few people seem to be realizing that only the artists can take measures to protect their works. I’m fairly new to Reborns (only just bought my first doll in 2023 and received him this year, my second doll in July 2023, my third was ordered in September 2023 and arrived this year and got a fourth this year as a total surprise)… and all of this is a crazy upheaval to be going through when I’ve only just gotten here, where I’ve wanted to be for 16 years. :< (I was introduced to the hobby 16 years ago but was a kid without their own money then, so I couldn’t join in.)
