Used to ride from the old Newmans farm to the gumfields, never touching a road popping out at Ahipara, took all day , the gumfields were a brilliant place on a bike. You would be amazed how many boat only buildings and a school are tucked away in that harbour. Thanks for the visit, nice vid.

Great video, thank you. Just one question . Do you need a permit or freedom camping certification on your vehicle to camp on such sites?

@5:09 your increasing the surface area and gaining traction on the length side of the tire not the width. If you mark your initial size of the tyre, length and width ways on the sand, you'll notice that the length part of the tyre increases more than the width. Best example I can give you will be a tank or skis/snowboard
@OffroadAddictionTV3 жыл бұрын
Correct, but looking side on it can also be called width. Just down to interpretation of our terminology haha. The footprint is increased might be easier way to say it so everyone is happy 🙂

You want a longer footprint when airing down, not a wider footprint necessarily 😁 nice video!

Nice video mate.. Unfortunately the main faces (hill climbs) going up into the dunes at the start of the video have now been fenced off
@OffroadAddictionTV6 жыл бұрын
We heard that something had happened up there. It is a real shame to see things shut but sometimes it is needed before areas get destroyed.
@lsmith67776 жыл бұрын
Yep. Dunes are still accessible from around the back towards gumfields track entrance so most people can work around it

Nice guys. Can any one with a 4x4 go there
@OffroadAddictionTV6 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, as long as you are respectful and clean your messes there should be no issues. Would definitely recommend good recovery gear and not going alone.
