couldnt tell in the video but is this designed more as a stiff rig or is the hook more loose?

These are considered semi stiff rigged. Our 7/0 - 12/0 have heat shrink on the crimp connections, and the hook connection. We don't shrink the entire cable length, however it definitely can be done to convert that into a stiff rig.
