I would be looking at re routing those wires Harry and glassing that hole as that looks like a decent hole in the transom to potentially fail again...

Cheap jigs do work but expensive jigs are tested more rigorously I fish expensive and have very good catch rates

You said Bonito or Mack Tuna doesn't freeze well ,does it freeze better after it's cooked or smoked?

Not sure man never tried. I’d say it freezes better smoked. Goes mushy when you freeze it raw
