OFFSTAGE: Take 6 "Something Within Me"

The most awarded a cappella group in history, Take 6 has been heralded by Quincy Jones as the “baddest vocal cats on the planet!” Claude McKnight, Mark Kibble, Joel Kibble, Dave Thomas, Alvin Chea, and Khristian Dentley bring extraordinary vocals to their worldwide audiences. The group’s latest recording, ICONIC, is composed of eclectic tunes that pay tribute to both the music and artists that made them famous. Songs include Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling,” Christopher Cross’s “Sailing,” and the Beatles’ “Got To Get You Into My Life.”

When they talk about the best acapella groups in the world, there are a lot of great groups in the world: Pentatonix, Voctave, Rockapella, Home Free, just to name a few. But the kings of acapella are Take 6, who are celebrating their 43rd year - and two members, Claude McKnight (the brother of R&B legend Brian McKnight) and Mark Kibble have been there from the start. (The other kings are The King's Singers, who are still going strong after 55 years.)
