Just a thought. My brother is a rancher up in Montana (I am in Wyoming) and his front "bumper" is a legitimate cow catcher with a large enough compartment front and center for his tire chains. That makes them easy to get to (a little less than waste high) and keeps them in their own compartment and out of the stuff you have in the other compartments. Good luck and have fun.

Noticed the flatbed on Earl is set up for a second fuel tank. You might want to look into making use of it by installing one. Also get locking fuel caps. However, if someone siphons it, thinking they're getting gas, would be in for a big surprise. I also suggest some retractable truck steps by AMP. It will help Mere and the kids get into the truck. They drop down when you open the door(s) and fold up when you close them. Don't hurt the ground clearance in any way when you're on the move.
@someyoungguy6990
@someyoungguy6990 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Matt the things on your inner door are stiffeners. They stop the door from bending and kinda flip flopping so it will always close flat. But they can be used for hanging tools and do make a handy place to mount side work lights. If by chance you see this can you please give a rough co$t to buy and build Earl, cause i would love to be behind the wheel of a 2500 on the streets of Australia..!

Extended shackles are actually pretty dangerous. They can flip under load and invert your springs, which is why they're illegal in Australia. He would have been better off putting a few extra leafs in the pack and an airbag..... More work, more expensive. But heaps safer

take into account that any car built to survive the end of the world will actually only be built to survive the first 8 to 12 months. Smirked a lil' bit when he talked about doing more stuff with Earl. I'm guessing either a turbo/injector upgrade or a wrap?
@justin7080

Yea, he did say more "utility items" too though. Maybe more work lights up front, a winch, and some rear airbags for towing?

@@justin7080 I'm thinkin' a smallish light bar and some fog lights. Maybe a winch too.

When they were talking about the old 6.4 I laughed because in the diesel world the 6.4 makes the 6.0 power stroke look like a good engine

Leave 'em. 35's are a good look for a "get-er-done" truck.

Gen 1 needs to happen in the future, full one of a kind build to start a whole new Demo wrench. Would be cool after the bronco? Just a thought.

Looks great, beefy! Surprised they didn't go with higher gears though, to offset the 35's. Better acceleration to get loads moving and less stress on the driveline. 4.10s with Detroit Tru-tracs was the best mod I ever made to my truck.
