OFR room heaters | Should you buy? | Pros & Cons | Buying Guide

OFR room heaters or oil filled radiator heaters have been a revolution among heating appliances. They are known for ambient heating that mimics central heating to some extent. I explain more on that in this OFR heater review. These heaters have multiple benefits like being efficient heaters, durable, and heaters that are child and health friendly since they do not get red hot, nor do they deplete oxygen. In this video, I used a Havells 13 fin OFR heater to demonstrate the workings of an OFR. There are a lot of other good brands, too, offering similar products that include Morphy Richards OFR, Bajaj OFR, And Borosil OFR to name a few. Compared to heat pillars, fan heaters/blowers, and radiant heaters, they are longer lasting and far more silent! In fact, they heat your room with no noise whatsoever! Improving this technology further is the incorporation of the PTC fan heater without the OFR unit. There are 9 fin ofr heaters, 11 fin ofr heaters, and 13 fin ofr heaters. They are far superior than their fossil fuel powered cousins, namely kerosene heaters and gas heaters. An OFR heater is a combination of more good and a little bad. More in the video. Q: when thermostat is on, and after certain time once the targetted heating is achieved, the thermostat gets cut off automatically for certain amount of time - does the heater keep consuming power during that time too?

No, not at all, brother ☺️ After the cut off, as long as the the max desired temperature is retained, no power is consumed; you can consider the unit dormant because the thermostat has cut off the power supply; only if the PTC fan heater is active will it draw power for that. As soon as the heat trickles below that mark, the thermostat gets to work again and draws power once again to bring the unit back up to the maximum set temp. Hope that helps 😊

Right, dear friend. So safe to say that sub zero temperatures/below zero are not a possibility, right? It was December of 1966, the Internet says, when the lowest of -0.4•C was recorded.
