Madam in the explanation of the lines " The words of love then spoken" and "The eyes that shone" can we say that in the young age of the poet his way of conversation/way of talking was full of affection and cheerfulness and his eyes had a special charm and brightness. You are saying that he had a girlfriend but this context is out of context.

Yes it's correct, having girlfriend is out of course no where it is written. I told coz wen one is in love his/ her eyes shines. And second thing I got this point from his biography. Ur point is also correct.
