@Tia H But sista, hasn't he been putting in that work at the ground level? Hence the reason he won an award at the BET awards? :D I understand why sistas would feel upset with him IF it is indeed true that he's dumped his wife for a white lady. Especially after he made them comments about us having to do better for black women. BUT, all that seems to be is rumours right now. I still haven't seen him and the blonde in question together in public yet!!!..has anyone else????

Micky Mouse BET awards is giving to elite black folks not grassroots blacks folks in these streets doing things that Jesse Williams have not done and will not do in his life...I agree with the comment above "actions speak more louder than words" to many black folks speak from a dictatorial stance (like ms rye) saying that people like Mr Williams is great for saying such things about black folks...it sounds good...but where is the action behind the speech...MLK is far different from the folks that stands for "pro blacks" besides getting large speaking fees/commentary salary he believe in his heart that blacks should be apart of the society and not separatist...I believe today...if MLK and Malcolm X was here they would have something to say about the progression race relations

Angela, that was a good interview with Jesse. Both of you are "woke", Angela if I can borrow your term. I was in the states when Jesse received that BET award. And I was glued to the TV watching it. That was when I took notice of Jesse. But with Angela, I had been watching you on CNN when you worked with that network. You displayed "gust" in pushing your messages across everytime. This was when I knew, you needed your own platform. I am so glad you have had it all these years. I moved away about 3yrs ago to my country of birth--Ghana. Hence, I miss most of those broadcast as my focus has shifted to the continent of Africa news. Once in a while, I catch with the other part of world's news.

WannaBeYourLover....Your problem is "sleep" and "wanna be your lover" Go read a book. Think for your self. Form your own opinions and don't fall for the fakeness of Jesse Williams. How a man treats his family say a lot about him. You might want to be his lover but he will treat you like he treated his wife and children.(like poop? Sit Down11

Tena Pierce You're dumb. You obviously don't read. Your problem is that you take other people's business personally. You're dumb enough to think that who someone sleeps with will liberate black people. What are you doing to fight oppression? Oh, that's right. KZbin thuggin'. I don't care for this Minka Kelly chick he's dating or really any non black women who fetishize our men but at the end of the day, I don't really care that much about people's relationships as a general rule. You obviously do. I bet your relationships are perfect. I bet you have 1,000 friends (NOT!) Get a life. Stop talking to me. And P.S. if you didn't know, "I Wanna Be Your Lover" is a Prince song you idiot. You're probably not even black. Ignored.

It's interesting that people are saying Jesse's relationships are off limits, yet we speak about single mothers and a women's level of sexual activity or a black woman dating another race as a personality trait. Also go to about 26:20 and listen to his comment about black men getting in their way in order to progress, but they really aren't. Dating a white woman or whoever you want is similar - you think you are making progress by loving who you want, but you are impacting the community. It does have an impact on the image of black women even if that is not his intent. This is a conversation that we do have to have. Black women do have to date outside of our race to balance the scales. Black men do need to protect black women to balance the scales.

Navarro I somewhat agree however, if you don't practice what you preach can you really preach? Better yet will people listen? We have been introduced to soo many "lil Wayne's" we screen and question when someone stands up for us. We want to know their motives, I want to see if he wins an award on another network besides BET would he have said the same speech? Also was he not on Jay's album saying how a rumor was going around about him divorcing his wife over some girl at work cause she pretty?! But I see he got that divorce though

I was walking my dog when I passed two brothers (black men, not related) talking. When I looked up there was a white woman running in my direction, passed me and ran over to the brothers. Frantically, she said, "have you seen the police?" One of the two men said, with his eyes wide open, with desperation in his voice, in a lowish whisper, almost ducking and then looking behind his back he said: "no, have you?" Confused and a little disturbed she says, " ah, no. that's why I asked."

@Angela rye, you are posting these twice on KZbin, which should we subscribe to. I notice that the cast on the Loud speaker Channel is the full show while this one is 90% of it but with video. I like the video because I like to see folks expressions when asked certain questions, plus you are easy on the eyes. Yes I had to go there LOL
