If you’re worried about being too quiet in the Stu. A cheat code is starting a convo wit the engineer! That way it gives the artist a chance to see how you really are without talking directly to you. 9/10 they’ll be more comfortable with you after you break ice with the engineer. Plus the engineer skill wise is closer a producer any way so if you’re too shy to talk to the artist. Talk with the engineer first 👍🏾

timing is key here but good advice as an engineer also i'd like to say starting convo with engineer is fine long as u gauge how focused he is (ie. mid session listening for something subtle)

I really love OG Parker’s story about his studio session that didn’t go well. I think that was an important highlight of dealing with failing and staying confident in your craft to continue and grow.
