Dantana Fonzareli, I agree with you 110% on that. I don't think Kev realizes the importance and the significance of what he is accomplishing. Right now the seed is being planted, and it's going to bear some positive fruit. Because of Kev's efforts, it going to be greater later. I see a bigger picture😎😎😎

Coming Back to this one, question... You asked him and he said Batman & Buster but I'll take mainly Batman. Was Batman just a 74th ST Crip only? He never turned 74 EC Back in his times? And was it ever an 74 EC Back then? And also According to Quake and Lil Doc and maybe you, 78 was EC even though they ain't lasted long, but was it a 78th EC Back then or was it just 78 Street crip? Or 78 Hustler?
@Austintx78721

Quake also mentioned Thone. It's Thorne, as in Hawthorne. Everybody called him Thone. I went to Monroe Jr High with Hawthorne in 1975, before he started bangin. I hadn't seen him in while, until one day I believe that there was a situation at Fremont with the Hoover's. I'm on my way out of the gate on th 76th & Towne side when I see a mob of dudes coming. I see a couple of dudes that I knew from the Coast, but as they got closer, I see that the dude leading the pack was none other that Thone. This was like 5 years later, and on the Eastside. When they bailed up he saw me, and was like wassup, in a friendly demeanor. We had remembered each other from Monroe. Some of the homies had the look on their faces like, "you know thone?" Good dude. Straight up. R.I.P. to O.G. Thone👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏👊👊👊💯💯💯

Now, about the Swan/Crip dynamic in the hood. Quake spoke on that, but let me tell you how things evolved. The Swans were always in the hood during the 70's but they were the only bloods in the immediate, Fremont area. So, for the most part, the were kind of low key. I also started Fremont in 1976. The Swans were there. The Main St Swans & the Avalon side of the Swans. But Fremont was dominated by Crips. You had the 6Pacc, 76ECC, Kitchens, 89NHECC, Main St, 74-83-92, and 107 Hoover's. Dominated by Crips, but the Swans were there. The 84 Boys (Bloods) were there. Hustler Shack was there. 89 Family's were there, but all out numbered. There were only two Bloods that would fully represent early on, and that was Barry & Chris from 89 Family. That's it. Out of the whole school, with the red rags. Now, let me tell how it all changed at Fremont. You had a bunch of ECC's & Hoover's and everybody was cool, up until a point. The Hoover's & the Coast started feuding at the noon dances with small stuff. Hoover here and Coast over here. That type of thing. Then it went to fight and so on and so forth. Fremont was more in Coast hood than it was on Hoover hood. But while the bickering was going on, the Swans were starting to emerge, because less & less Hoovers were going to Fremont. Fremont is more in Coast hood than Hoover hood. Less Hoover's meant less Crips. Eventually, they became bitter rivals, and the Swans took advantage of that situation. The Swans, 89/92 Family, 84 Boys started to emerge, and now the Coast was outnumbered. By this time, a lot the Coast stop attending Fremont. It was a wrap by the end of the seventies. True facts. I know quite a few from all sides😎😎😎

Swan that would be hanging at the dairy on the Avolon side that everybody respect. He gave respect and at the same time he got respect and nobody would f@ck with him,I can’t recall his name but if you were around then,you know who I’m talking about 😂

AT THAT TIME I WAS DEALING CRACK ON 84TH. SAN PEDRO, WHICH WAS THE KILLING ZONE. ONCE DOC ROC PAROLED TO HIS GIRLFRIEND APARTMENT ON 84TH BETWEEN TOWN AND AVALON , WHICH IS THE 84TH SWANS HANGOUT. THEY HAD ALREADY SHOT HIS GIRLFRIEND SPOT UP BEHIND CREEPING BOOTY CALLS, FOR HER CRIPS' LOVERS ON THE DOWN LOW AT MIDNIGHT, BUT A CRIP FROM HARLEM 30S GOT BUSTED BY SOME SWANS COMING OUT HER SPOT AND SHOT THRU THE WINDOWS, AS A WARNING. HER BIG SISTER IS MY YOUNGER HOME GIRL FROM NICKERSON GARDENS, SO I HAD TO KEEP THE SWANS FROM KILLING HER AND OOOG DOC ROC AKA BLACK ROBERT, ORIGINAL 53 AVALON CRIPS. FOR THE RECORDS, THE 84TH SWANS IN 1989 , WAS MAD AT ME BECAUSE I TOLD THEM DOC ROC WAS A PLAYER AND HUSTLER. Good peace of history. I went to school with Quake at Edison & Fremont. We're the same age. He spoke the Castle Crips and you showed the picture of the Castle on Hooper Ave. & 71st St. I had family from Castle Crips. Also, the 74th St. Boys such as Batman, Ronnie Brady, Lee Hayes. Those were the older cats. And then, Butter, Ghost , Fuzzy, and so on, were my age. As for the Castle Crips, they didn't turn to Swans. It may have been a couple, but most move on to other things, and others turned ECC. I know most of them. Back then. you also had Mafia Crips in the hood😎

Being from St. Louis, Missouri, its so refreshing to hear "Rolling Coasting / Roller Coaster Cripping" .. as regards to 62NHECC and R60NHC getting along .. in St. Louis, they are the two biggest types of crips across the city, in numerous neighborhoods, and they all h a t e eachother !! Its so backwards too, the 62uces main ally in the city are 87 Kitchen Crips, and they aren't just any other type of ally, they are so joined together that its very hard to tell them apart, whever there is a 62, there is going to be a Kitchen.. if you go around the city, most people would honestly think and tell you that a 62 and Kitchen are the exact same thing. Meanwhile, on the other hand, The 60s, are so vast in majority, they usually dont have to ally with anyone but themselves and other hoods that are the same, but there are still many many R60s and 83GC alliances around the city, which would probably make the O.G.s in LA sick to their stomach. And a lot of other gangs fall under one or the other alliances as well, being that 62 and 87 are the 2nd and 3rd most populated type of crips, all of the types of crips beneath them (83GC, 107Hoover, 19HC/LBC), usually ally with Rolling 60s, .. which makes for a very messy and deep crip vs crip war. Of course it isn't the same in every hood, and results vary from hood to hood, but thats the basis of anything that would b any different. And I haven't even mentioned the bloods in St. Louis, where there are a lot of Blood vs Blood beefs which are almost unheard of in LA, most bloods in the city are either 92BishopBlood, 62BrimBlood, 10/4CMB, or what we call "Straight Blood" (bloods who dont have a real identity, other than the hood that they occupy) .. there are still many bloods vs crips rivalries of course, but there is also a lot of getting along under the biggest beef in the city as I mentioned earlier (62 vs 60) .. the 92s usually get aling very well with 62s, while "Straight Bloods" tend to side with 60s more, and 104 and 62Brim usually stay neutral and say fuck everybody , as long as with the Grape Crips in the city lol. And I'm not being for the senseless killings of young black youth at ALL, but there are still very important things and lessons in life and black brotherly love culture in the banging, and if the St. Louis crips are gonna bang, i wish they'd at least do it right... but things are different in every city, so this might just have to be our normal until the end. But I'm just wondering if you can ask an OG or even a YG in LA have they heard of this, and if so, what they think, or even if you've heard, and what you think.... and if anybody else reads this, give feedback please and thankyou.
@larrysnoova3438
@larrysnoova3438 6 жыл бұрын
PS: .. and St. Louis gang culture started very similar to LA's gang culture, with neighborhoods having their own "groups" which would usually just be the bullies and antibullies of the neighborhoods, and they just used to throw fists. And thats when naturally, Crips and Bloods migrated to the city all the way back from around the mid 80s. So we pretty much had some OG crips and bloods of the same exact sets that are represented to this very day.. which would make you think, well why is there so much confusion, as if those kids don't know their history and may be (what some people call any types of crips outside of LA 🙄) pretenders ..... and its not that simple, those same OGs who came here along with the young guys, recruited killers and dealers, that they were rolling with from the city, are the ones who had a big confrontation at a club one night, and started a domino effect onto everything falling in place the way it was from all the way then, all the way today ... its all such a pretty interesting and complex story, Kev i've been a big fan of the vids since the start .. im just wondering when you'll start hitting on the expanding to other cities and visiting some of the cities that were expanded to, there are some very wisdom filled and wild story packed OGs from here as well.

Gang Gang i'd say mid 90s.... the la eme pressure brought a lot to the surface. There were race riots all over LA county in middle and high schools. I was involved in some.I remember riots in places like inglewood and all the way down to places like cabrillo in Long beach. The racial thing to me was more apparent to me round 98'..... but i encountered cvs, longeros etc years earlier starting in 94' ...it wasnt till 2004 i had to fight off f13. Many say that the ecc/f13 went to a new level around then....im not sure...all i know is that from about 04' on out things were tense all over La county. I started losing friends from about 97' on out to gang violence asians, mexicans and my own ppl. For me 2002-2006 i lost the most and no i dont bang but i was affiliated with peeps specifically in LB/cpt i went on my lil missions...

I think the Hoover's are most hated because they were the most dominate, and really the first to get all cliqued up. The Hoover's were cliqued up when I started Jr. High school, back around 1973. Everyone else were like individual sets. Really back then, no one else was cliqued (organized) like the Hoover's, and this was after the Eastside/Westside thing splintered into different sets. Just my take on it😎😎😎

Another thing about the Eastside that Quake mentioned. East of Fremont, on the Eastside, A lot of Blacks & Mexicans got along and/or intertwined. I've heard people use the term "Mexican Lover's," but on the far Eastside, we've always been amongst one another. With the influx of Mexican spreading all over L.A., its a culture shock to a lot of Blacks, but not to us on the far Eastside. There were always a lot of Mexicans on our side, and we were cool with one another. There were Blacks in the Ochenta's, as well as, Florencia 13😎😎😎

@Kev Mac on your time stamp 12:10 minutes you asked about the beef betwixt Hoover and EC and how it came about/ was kicked off; OG Quake states, "He didn't really know, that he was incarcerated." The beef and/ or animosity was birthed at the God Father Raymond Washignton's funeral when OG Bammm (Johnny Calvin Thomas; OES Crip from 83 HCG) was accused of killing Raymond Washington and OG Bammm knocked the individual out. That was the spark that fueled the HCG and EC beef.
