For anyone new to this channel, there's also an immense amount of information in Matt's Rupes Product series videos. Probably the most informative detailing-related content that can be found on KZbin.

Matt can you make a video for people like my Dad who think how we wash our cars with two buckets, foam, top to bottom with running water etc is nonsense please. He has a lovely 5 series BWW but he only uses 1 bucket, no grit guard, no running water. I keep trying to tell him and teach him but he won't listen. In fact the other day I caught him washing his FILTHY car and he said don't worry I'm just getting the dirt off it (I ALMOST DIED). I would be good to do I video with some comparisons between how we wash cars to how he does and try and capture some instant swirls and scratches from a bad wash and show the camera! :) Love the video btw man!

Matt, my first comment ever in your channel BTW... Just wanted to say you did an amazing job braining this hole meet there in Rupes... I know from a fact, that a little bit of tips and tricks using a paint correction systems changes the experience of Detailing... Otherwhise the learning curve by ourselves sometimes is too long and messy... Anyways, congrats to you, to the guys attending there and cheers to Jason as Dylan who does this teaching thing excellent! 💪💪💪

I far prefer my makita BO6050 which I've modded (mille did not exist then) for the clockwise rotation over the Flex anti clockwise however the PO6000C design is anti clockwise too and I tried two different machines and did not like the way it moved, it steered badly) the smaller orbit on the mille should finish better than the flex 8 mm forced. Sensational video, thank you OG, Jason and Dylan. Matt Gibb.

Matt - Love your videos and someday I would love to attend one of these events. I just washed the pad cleaning demo with the air compressor. Are you using filtered / dry air? I am in the market for an air compressor and wondering if there is any special accessories ( other than the air gun) to clean pads?
@ObsessedGarage
@ObsessedGarage 6 жыл бұрын
The RUPES facility has treated, dried air. It is a $30,000+ compressor. You don't need a dryer, but it certainly helps. I have an inlet filter and outlet filer on my dryer in my system that feeds a another filter regulator.

@@Tank4sale the spritz of water should be used on heavy compound or polish buildup. But they said to keep blowing out the pads as much as possible which is after every pass or panel. But keep it frequent..

I didn't see anyone in playing with a Cyclo. Of course they're not popular, but did they not have one out in the garage? I know I'd play with one if I could just cuz I'd never use one otherwise. My bro-in-law interviewed for a job with the company that makes Lustra stuff (the pre-soak wash they had in their wash bay). It's insane how many different variations on every chemical they have. Most of them sound really harsh, so I'm surprised that Rupes is using what seems to be chem for general public touchless car washes in their own system. Rupes should improve their PPE situation. I couldn't help but wish that everyone had at least a simple dust mask for cleaning pads with compressed air. Even with water and aiming down and away, there is so much junk that will get into and hang in the air. It's not worth the health risk even for hobbyists, but especially for pros who do a lot more of this. I also didn't see any ear protection, and while I don't know how many decibels you are dealing with running Rupes machines in that garage, I know that before I took safety more seriously, my ears could ring for quite awhile after running my DA for a bit even outside.

I don't think that is the point that was being made. The point about car cleaning, polishing etc is about how one approaches their life. High quality input results in high quality output. Systematic approach, etc etc.
