A lot of people have already suggested this but "The Evil River" from Red Rocks '22 is mind-blowing. I was there and when the song ended everyone around me in the crowd was just staring at each other with our mouths open literally not able to comprehend what we had just witnessed. Seriously 🤯

One of the drummers, Eric, left a while ago. He's now in charge of their own label, Flightless Records. They were facing each other so that Eric could be more in sync with the other drummer, Cavs.
@pizzarellayt11 ай бұрын
Bit of a correction, Eric didn't leave the band and _then_ start running Flightless, he started running Flightless when the band started since they couldn't get signed to other labels. He left the band, continued running Flightless, and King Gizzard left the label and is now self releasing.

It's great watching you discovering all the facets of these guys. May I suggest for your next song, one that features yet another instrument and different band member singing? "This Thing" live at Remlinger Farms 6.17.23 has great sound & video quality and shows the whole stage setup.

Hey, it’s Charles. Thanks for the suggestion! It has been amazing diving into their collection. I’m already checking out vinyl to add to my collection! Thanks for watching!

Boogieman Sam/Sleepwalker from Red Rocks. Longer video, but holy actual moly is it an absolutely legendary performance. Really love that you guys are digging into my favorite band. I still bump to Possum Kingdom in the car haha. I'd say if you're getting good engagement from the King Gizzard fans, keep it coming, cuz we'll keep watching!

Thanks so much bumble! It’s Charles. Thanks for listening to Possum and I can see why Gizzard is a fave band of yours! I haven’t heard a single bad song yet! Starting to plot out vinyl purchases of their stuff, lol! Thanks for watching!

@JackalopeTalesChannel Man, so cool to hear back from you! Their vinyl releases are pretty neat in their own right. Nonagon Infinity is definitely worth a full run through on vinyl, and Polygondwanaland is a special one as well among the fanbase. I won't spoil it for you but I'm sure you'll see why. You guys were a huge influence on me musically growing up, I'm glad I stumbled on your channel after all these years!

Lord of lightning live on kexp is a very cool video to see the stage setup well. It gets some very good shots to show how focused both drummers are to stay in sync, even shows them stuttering a few times to make sure they are perfectly mirrored. Definitely a cool one to check out, I think you guys would DIG IT!

Thanks for the suggestion Seth! Definitely have to put that on our list!

As someone else mentioned, their second drummer and manager Eric left a few years ago to manage their label. That is true, but King Gizzard's stuff is all self released now, seperate from Flightless Records. Anyways, this song is great. Surprisingly, this phone recording doesn't sou d very bad. I honestly need to listen to the album this is from more often. They do have quite a few 4/4 songs as well. For example, Work This Time and The Dripping Tap are both in 4/4, the former being their most listened on Spotify and the later being and incredible jam song.

Hey pizzarellayt! Cool info! I do like some 4/4 but when some of the time signatures get crazy, it’s works that little part in my brain that doesn’t get used much. So love it!

I think yall should check out their live set from Bonnarroo 2022. The opening 2 songs Robot Stop > Hot Water is absolutely insane and is a really great intro into their live experience (beyond this video). I guarantee it will blow your mind. It's a pro-shot video so you get multiple angles as well. There's also plenty of flute playing - which is good!

Polygondwanaland is my personal favorite album of theirs. It's three suites, comprised of three songs each, that follow a really cool ten minute opening track. This is the first song of the first suite. I am partial to the album, but I also think it is often overlooked and underrated from an objective standpoint. Insightful reaction, appreciate you two for being so open to KG!

You should listen to King Gizzard-Straws in the wind live at Remlinger Farms for their live music. Could also be the Murlocs' Undone and Unashamed (or watch any of their music videos, really). The Murlocs feature two members frim king gizzard: Ambrose on vocals, rhythm guitar, harmonica, keys, and sax, and Cookie on bass, guitar, and keyboards. Another great song is Minor Setback by GUM featuring Ambrose Kenny-Smith (fun trippy vid and killer track).

If you want trippy videos, gizz is full of them. They let their fans bootleg their stuff too! Even released an album for free, and multiple albums in the same year- more than once. Also I've been loving Crumb, The Warning, Ghost, Louis Cole....

Hey Osteowitch, it’s Charles. Thanks for the suggestions and thanks for watching! I saw that one year they released like 5 albums…..holy shit! That is insane and so amazing! Much respect for the Gizz!
