Eurovision 2020 is unfortunately cancelled but the mood is still here! After Eurovision Song Contest 2020 was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Dutch broadcasters who should have produced Eurovision 2020 (NPO, NOS and AVROTROS), will now produce a new show: "Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light". The show will try to bring together some of the Eurovision 2020 artists, from their own locations, performing a Eurovision song from the past, with changed lyrics written for the current situation we all find ourselves in. The show will air in place of the Grand Final on Saturday 16 May 2020 at 21:00 CEST online on Eurovision's KZbin. The show is expected to last 2 hours. Some well known artists from Eurovision's previous shows will also be invited to perform from their own locations. All 41 artists have been invited to join together and sing “Love Shine A Light" by Katrina and the Waves. The EBU is also inviting fans to participate in this special event by creating a choir, with people across the globe singing Johnny Logan’s "What’s Another Year". OG3NE already got into the Eurovision vibe by doing a Eurovision Medley. I put the link down below. These ladies have great voices and I love their close harmonies. This medley is good, and their a cappella performances are even better! Maybe you could react to some of the other a cappella groups also? Pentatonix is the gold standard...and their cover of "Hallelujah" ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/goOzaZdtnc2jpbM ) is stunningly beautiful (which is why it's been viewed over half a Billion times!) You recently reacted to Home Free, but they have an enormous catalog. Their cover of Johnny Cash's 1963 hit "Ring of Fire" ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zp2WlaZ-eLiWrrc ) features two of the best basses singing today--Tim Foust and Avi Kaplan (borrowed from Pentatonix.) Last, but not least, there's VoicePlay! Their bass, Geoff Castellucci, can also break things with his voice! They're unusual. All 3 seem to be contraltos - and contraltos are not well-represented in pop music, that I have seen, so their blended voices carry a distinctive sound quality. When they venture above their natural range, they're doing so in falsetto, without much power. That isn't a criticism! It's just a classification observation. They aren't sopranos. What they are is pleasing to the ear.
