Shane!! You're back!! Hope you're doing well!! 😄. I agree with most of these choices for ogae (in terms of songs selected). Some that I would've personally liked to have seen (not necessarily instead of the selected songs). Filip Balos - Duga de Nos (not spelt correctly but love that song, not as much as Novi Plan Drugi San but its up there) Mahmood - Tuta Gold Bodine - Tears like Rain - I always had this on equal footing to Ryk's song (although I still really like always on the run). The roop -simple joy - although Luktelk was clearly my favourite., I actually didn't mind the roops song this year (I didn't think however that it was competitive). I don't typically closely follow ogae every year (I just see the results usually) but genuinely this year, I liked most of the selected songs (either my favorite or a song amongst my favorites/best of a selection I'm not in love with) like I personally found Benidorm fest quite weak this year in comparison to 2022 and 2023. So yeah overall, I don't mind the selection of songs or the winner. Also, fully agree, Effortless is a bop that I've had a loop quite a bit this year.

Eeeeeeeee. I haven't been coming over to my Eurovision KZbin account. So I am happy my personal one recommended me this video otherwise I would have had no idea you had posted Shane. Yeah, I am dubious on some of the ratings the original video poster as given, so I am in agreement with you on that one (what a surpirse 🤣). Tho I notice random decimal scores, so that is something you both like to do, though the original video poster is much harsher than you ever were. Countries where I would have chose the OGAE Second Chance choice over the actual winner: Sweden, Norway, Italy, Finland, Portugal, Estonia, Serbia, Czechia, Denmark Countries which would have done better with OGAE Second Chance choice: Norway (not as good as Spirit in the Sky, but certainly higher than last in the final), Italy (dare I say it, a possible ESC winner), Finland (potential top 10 thanks to high jury score thrown away), Estonia (would have got the rock vote, was much more accesible than Norway's actual ESC entry), Serbia (not sure if Konstrakta would have worked a second time, but think it would have still performed better), Denmark (threw away a clear finalist and possible left hand side result). My actual top 5 is a tough one, but I would go with: 1. Italy (easy choice, an amazing song, if it made it to Eurovision it would rank as one of the best of all time) 2. Finland (love it from the first listen, but I am a sucker for a big dramatic female ballad) 3. Sweden (great fun pop song, tho the live is perhaps not as strong as the studio) 4. Norway (love KEiiNO and this was really fun, still a bit upset when I think how close they were to making it back to ESC) 5. Croatia (this could have been any number of other options, but I have plumped for Croatia simply because I haven't mentioned them anywhere else and I do generally really enjoy this song lots, of course Baby Lasagna was the rightly and obvious choice for ESC, but yeah, showing this one some love too) On the whole very happy with the OGAE results, and if you go to watch them it is hilarious just how much Italy run away with it, I think just 3 countries or so didn't give them full marks. It was really that one sided. Anyhoo, always great to watch you Eurovision content Shane, looking forward to 2025 in whatever shape it may take 🥰🥰🥰

I think Sara would almost certainly have done better than Windows95man, probably getting more jury love as well. Annalisa and Angelina is a tougher one to call - I think Angelina would have done better with different staging as well, so ... who knows. Keiino would likely have got more televote, but that song wasn't going to win massive points from a jury. My top three from the selection were Annalisa, Sara and Jacqline.

Hi Shane, how wonderful to see you again! 🥰💖💖 I've been thinking about you from time to time and wondering how you're doing over there!? It became more clear after Georgi posted a couple of videos recently.. Which I would have liked to comment on, but illness prevented me.. have almost lost all my sight, so I probably won't be able to write as often as before😢. In any case, I will happily follow you in the future and there is much to look forward to😉. I'm not particularly surprised by most of the choices and the result, although I personally would have chosen a different song from some countries (Ukraine, Croatia although "Gasoline" is ok, Serbia, Denmark. Didn't see Lithuania, Portugal). I have seen both Irama (personal winner, you know that😉 and Annalisa from large outdoor concerts in Italy and they are both divine artists. The audience LOVES them. I think Annalisa's song is good, but not exceptional. However, when she performed it on a big stage, the song really elevated for me! It became "bigger", thanks a lot to her amazing artistry which was alloowed to blossom more here. 🥰 Some, who I think could have gotten a better result are Ryk, Krick (if Luxembourg had competed), Ollie, Sara, Angy. I haven't been able to follow Junior Eurovision for the reasons mentioned, but I'm curious. Will probably listen and check when it gets closer. However, I am checking out Hello Mello, where the winner gets to perform (not compete) in the big Mello. 😊🎉 Hope you enjoy yourself there and feel well! 🌺

Welcome back. As a Finn, Sara and Paskana was my favourite. It would have done better than Windows95man. I would have liked to know how Medina would have done in OGAE, since I find Jacqline generic (sorry). It would have been nice to see Melovin as the Ukrainian entry, since the song chosen was so bland. In general, I am quite pleased with OGAE: I like Annalisa and although I would have placed Jacqline and Keiino lower, I acknowledge that they are popular in fandom.
